Giorgia Zanellato is an Italian designer of furniture, lighting, household and decorative objects. Biography Giorgia Zanellato was born in Venice. She graduated from the IUAV University in Venice, and then completed a Master's Degree in Product Design at the École cantonale d'art de Lausanne in Switzerland. She is the co-founder of Zanellato/Bortotto, a design studio that has worked in the furniture, lighting, accessories, and interior architecture sectors for companies such as Louis Vuitton, De Castelli, Incalmi, Ethimo, Del Savio, Pierre Frey, Saba, Bolzan Letti, and Botteganove. She was a fellow at the American Academy in Rome. Pierre Frey SA is a French interior design company founded in 1935 by designer Pierre Frey. The family-owned company designs and manufactures traditional French fabrics, wallpapers, carpets, rugs and furniture. Founder Pierre Frey was born on 29 December 1903, to a northern French family. The American Academy in Rome is a research and arts institution located on the Gianicolo (Janiculum Hill) in Rome. The academy is a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers. History In 1893, a group of American architects, painters and sculptors met regularly while planning the fine arts section of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The group discussed the idea of forming an American school for artists in Europe as a place for American artists to study and further their skills. Led by Charles F. The Triennale di Milano is a design and art museum in the Parco Sempione in Milan, in Lombardy in northern Italy. MAXXI ( it, Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, italic=no, "national museum of 21st-century arts") is a national museum of contemporary art and architecture in the Flaminio neighborhood of Rome, Italy. The museum is managed by a foundation created by the Italian ministry of cultural heritage. The building was designed by Zaha Hadid, and won the Stirling Prize of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2010. History An international design competition for the design of the museum building was won by Zaha Hadid. Her submission included five separate structures, of which only one was completed.
