The Georgians, or Kartvelians (; ka, ქართველები, tr, ), are a nation and indigenous Caucasian ethnic group native to Georgia and the South Caucasus. Giorgi Matiashvili ( ka, გიორგი მათიაშვილი; born 18 December 1977) is a Georgian major general and the incumbent Chief of Georgian Defense Forces, appointed on 1 July 2020. Born in the town of Gardabani, Matiashvili graduated from the United Military Academy of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia in 1999. George III Of Georgia
George III ( ka, გიორგი III) (died 27 March 1184), of the Bagrationi dynasty, was the 8th King of Georgia from 1156 to 1184. He became king when his father, Demetrius I, died in 1156, which was preceded by his brother's revolt against their father in 1154. His reign was part of what would be called the Georgian Golden Age – a historical period in the High Middle Ages, during which the Kingdom of Georgia reached the peak of its military power and development. George was the father of Queen Tamar the Great. Life He succeeded on his father Demetrius I's death in 1156. Giorgi Tsetsadze
Giorgi (Gia) Tsetsadze (, born on 3 September 1974) is a Georgian football manager. Most recently he was the head coach of Telavi. Career In 2011 Tsetsadze led FC Dila Gori to gain promotion to the Georgia top division (Umaglesi Liga). In 2013 he managed the Georgia national under-19 football team qualifying with it for the 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. It was the second time the team qualified for such tournament and the first time since organization was shifted from under-18 competition to under-19. In 2016 along with FC Samtredia Tsetsadze became a winning head coach in the Georgian national league and the first national title for the club. In June 2020 Tsetsadze was placed at the head of the FC Lviv coaching staff. He will be helped by Vitaliy Shumskyi and Ihor Rypnovskyi. Giorgi Sanaia, sometimes spelled as Giorgi Sanaya ( ka, გიორგი სანაია) (1975–2001) was a Georgian television journalist of the independent broadcasting company Rustavi 2 who was murdered under controversial circumstances in 2001. Giorgi Saakadze the Grand Mouravi ( ka, გიორგი სააკაძე) (c. 1570 – October 3, 1629) was a Georgian politician and military commander who played an important but contradictory role in the politics of the early 17th-century Georgia.
