Giofra
Giofra (foaled 11 March 2008) is a British-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. Problems with leg injuries meant that she did not race until the autumn on her three-year-old season but she then won two of her three races in late 2011 including the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre. In 2012 she emerged as a top-class racemare, taking the Prix d'Harcourt on her seasonal debut and recording her biggest win in the Group One Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket Racecourse in July. She also finished second in the Prix Ganay and the Hong Kong Cup and third in the Prix de l'Opéra. She failed to win as a five-year-old in 2013 but finished third in both the Dubai Duty Free and the Falmouth Stakes before being retired from racing. The Prix d'Harcourt is a Group 2 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbreds aged four years or older. It is run over a distance of 2,000 metres (about 1¼ miles) at Longchamp in April. History The event is named in memory of Emmanuel d'Harcourt (1844–1928), a former president of the Société d'Encouragement. It was established in 1929, and was originally contested over 2,400 metres. The Prix d'Harcourt was held at Auteuil in 1940, and at Maisons-Laffitte in 1943 and 1944. On the latter occasion its distance was 2,000 metres. Dansili (27 January 1996 – 22 December 2021) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse. He won five races, including the Prix du Muguet. It is run at Longchamp over a distance of 2,000 metres (about 1¼ miles), and it is scheduled to take place each year in early October. Hong Kong Cup
The Hong Kong Cup is a Group 1 flat horse race in Hong Kong which is open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older. It is run over a distance of 2000 metres (about miles or 10 furlongs) at Sha Tin, and it is scheduled to take place each year in mid December. The race was first run on 24 January 1988, and its distance was initially set at 1800 metres. The inaugural running was restricted to horses trained in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. Added to this list for the following season were horses from Australia and New Zealand. The race was switched to December for its third running, therefore taking place twice within 1989. Horses trained in Europe were admitted in 1990, followed by those from the United States in 1991, and Canada and Japan in 1992. Cirrus des Aigles (foaled 8 May 2006) is a retired French Thoroughbred racehorse. In a career which lasted from October 2008 until December 2015 he has raced in France, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
