Gino Cauchi
Gino Cauchi (born 25 January 1968 in Paola) is a Sales and Marketing Manager in One Productions Ltd and a Maltese politician. He was a member of parliament in the House of Representatives of Malta of the Labour Party (Partit Laburista). Personal life and family Cauchi was born in Paola and lives in Pembroke. He is married to Louiselle née Attard, and they have two children: Paula and Nicholas. Career at One Productions He joined One Productions as Head of News and Current Affairs in 2000. Took over as Head of Sales and Marketing in 2005. Currently he is a Communication Executive within the Labour Party. Journalism Cauchi worked as a journalist with the Public Broadcasting Authority (The National Television Station in Malta) from 1985 till 2000. He later worked as a journalist with Party's television and radio station, Super One Radio and took on a similar role at Super One TV., becoming the station's head of news in 2000. Paola, Malta
Paola ( mt, Raħal Ġdid, it, Casal Nuovo, both meaning "New Town") is a town in the South Eastern Region of Malta, with 8,706 inhabitants as of 2019. The town is a commercial centre in the Southern Harbour area of Malta, about 5 km from the capital Valletta, contiguous to Tarxien and Fgura, with which it forms a single urban area. Paola is named after Grand Master Antoine de Paule, who laid the foundation stone in 1626. Paola is renowned for the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, the Basilica of Christ the King (the largest church in the Maltese Islands), Antoine de Paule Square and its shopping centres, the Good Friday procession, and its football club, Hibernians FC. Karl Chircop
Karl Chircop (7 August 1965 – 12 October 2008) was a family doctor and Maltese politician. He was Member of Parliament in the House of Representatives of Malta of the Malta Labour Party (Partit Laburista) from 1996 to 2008, served as shadow Minister for post, Social Policy, and Health. Political career Karl Chircop started off in the Labour Party as a member of the youth section of the Labour Party, the Labour Youth Forum (Forum Żgħażagħ Laburisti). He contested the general elections for the first time in 1996 on the 4th district (Gudja, Għaxaq, Marsa, Paola, Santa Luċija, Tarxien). He became a member of parliament in 1996 at age 31, and continued to be elected in parliament ever since. Labour Party (Malta)
The Labour Party ( mt, Partit Laburista, PL), formerly known as the Malta Labour Party ( mt, Partit tal-Ħaddiema, MLP), is one of the two major political parties in Malta, along with the Nationalist Party. It sits on the centre-left of the political spectrum. The party was founded in 1920 as the Chamber of Labour by a small group of trade unionists. Its prominent member Paul Boffa served as the first Labour prime minister between 1947 and 1950. Ideologically, the party was orientated towards democratic socialism and other left-wing stances until the early 1990s, when it followed the lead of like-minded Western social-democratic parties like Britain's New Labour. Pembroke, Malta
Pembroke is a town in the Northern Region of Malta, and it is considered to be the country's newest locality. To the east is Paceville, the nightlife district of Malta. The coastal town and tourist hub of St. Julian's lies to the southeast, and the residential area of Swieqi lies to the south. The hilltop village of Madliena is to its west, and Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq lies to the northwest. Pembroke covers an area of . The area hugs a coastal zone with a rocky beach.
