Gino Brazil
Gino Brazil (born 28 March 1968 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish former footballer. He is currently working as a Football in Community Development Officer for the Football Association of Ireland. A diabetic, Brazil played all his schoolboy football with Belvedere and then got an offer to sign for St Patrick's Athletic where he spent five months. After a period on the bench he dropped down a division and signed for Home Farm for two seasons. After a spell at Finn Harps (3 League Cup appearances) he signed for Shamrock Rovers under Noel King in 1989. He made his Rovers debut against Derry City on Friday 10 December 1989. He went to spend almost twelve seasons at Rovers where he made 323 competitive appearances scoring twice. In light of the club's failure to award Brazil a well-deserved testimonial Rovers fans organised a testimonial dinner on Sunday 26 October 1997. Dublin (; , or ) is the capital and largest city of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The League of Ireland ( ga, Sraith na hÉireann), together with the Football Association of Ireland, is one of the two main governing bodies responsible for organising association football in the Republic of Ireland. The term was originally used to refer to a single division league. However today the League of Ireland features five divisions – the Premier Division, the First Division, U19 Division, U17 Division, U15 Division and starting U13 Division. The League of Ireland has always worked closely with the FAI and in 2006 the two bodies formally merged. Athlone (; ) is a town on the border of County Roscommon and County Westmeath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is located on the River Shannon near the southern shore of Lough Ree. The Leinster Senior Cup is an association football cup competition organized by the Leinster Football Association. It is currently contested by LFA affiliated League of Ireland clubs, Leinster Senior League Senior Division clubs and invited teams from the various LFA affiliated junior leagues. Before the introduction of the FAI Cup, it was considered the major cup competition for clubs in what is now the Republic of Ireland. FAI Super Cup
The FAI Super Cup was an association football super cup featuring clubs from the Republic of Ireland. It was played for between 1998 and 2001. It was a pre-season tournament played in the summer before the regular League of Ireland season began. The same four clubs that qualified to represent the Republic of Ireland in UEFA competitions also qualified for the Super Cup. League of Ireland clubs had previously played in a similar competition known as the Top Four Cup. A similar competition, the LFA President's Cup, co-existed with the FAI Super Cup. Shamrock Rovers Football Club ( ga, Cumann Peile Ruagairí na Seamróige) is an Irish association football club based in Tallaght, South Dublin.
