Ginnie Crawford
Virginia Crawford (née Powell; born September 7, 1983) is a retired American track and field athlete who specialises in the sprint hurdles. She now is a 4th grade teacher after retiring track and field. She began her international track career at the 1999 World Youth Championships in Athletics, and she reached the final of the 100 meter hurdles competition. She won her first major medal at the 2006 IAAF World Cup, finishing in 12.90 seconds. She first competed in the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in 2005, and reached the final of the sprint hurdles competition at the 2007 and 2009 editions, finishing fifth and sixth respectively. Powell is a two-time US national champion over the 100 meter hurdles, winning the title in 2006 and 2007. She was also a successful collegiate athlete, winning two NCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships while a student at the University of Southern California. Yolanda Gail Devers ( ; born November 19, 1966) is an American retired track and field sprinter who competed in the 60 metres, 60 m hurdles, 100 m and 100 m hurdles. One of the greatest and most decorated female sprinters of all time, she was the 1993, 1997 and 2004 world indoor champion in the 60 m, while in the 60 m hurdles, she was the 2003 world indoor champion and 2004 silver medalist. In the 100 m, she is the second woman in history to defend an Olympic 100 m title, winning gold at both the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. She was also the 1993 world champion in the event, becoming the first ever female sprinter to simultaneously hold the world and Olympic titles in the 100m. 60 Metres
60 metres, or 60-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field. It is a championship event for indoor championships, normally dominated by the best outdoor 100 metres runners. At outdoor venues it is a rare distance, at least for senior athletes. The format of the event is similar to other sprint distances. The sprinters follow three initial instructions: 'ready', instructing them to take up position in the starting blocks; 'set', instructing them to adopt a more efficient starting posture, which also isometrically preloads their muscles. This will enable them to start faster. The final instruction is the firing of the starter's pistol. Upon hearing this the sprinters stride forwards from the blocks. The 100 metres hurdles, or 100-meter hurdles, is a track and field event run mainly by women (the male counterpart is the 110 metres hurdles).
