Ginetta GT4 Supercup
The Ginetta GT4 Supercup is a one-make racing, Sports car racing series based in the United Kingdom, using identical Ginetta G50 and G55 sports cars. The championship currently supports the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). The championship began as the Ginetta G50 Cup in 2008, supporting the British Formula Three Championship and British GT Championship. In 2009 it moved to support the BTCC. In 2011, with the introduction of the Ginetta G55, the championship became the Ginetta GT Supercup, running a multi class format for the two different cars. For the 2014 season, the championship was rebranded as the Ginetta GT4 Supercup, with both the G50 and G55 cars running in a single, performance balanced class. Croft Circuit
Croft Circuit is a motor racing circuit located near Dalton-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, England. The tarmac circuit is long and is based on the lands of an airfield, but has long since moved on from being a basic airfield circuit. The circuit holds meetings of the British Touring Car Championship, British Rallycross and Pickup Truck Racing race series. History The first records of racing at Croft date back to the 1920s, but it was after the Second World War that Croft circuit became a significant motorsport venue. At the beginning of the Second World War an airfield named RAF Croft was built on the site now occupied by the circuit. RAF Croft also known as Croft Aerodrome, was mainly used as a bomber airfield. It was home to a number of different aircraft types including Wellington, Lancaster, Whitley, Stirling and Halifax bombers. Adam William Morgan (born 28 October 1988) is a British auto racing driver. He currently drives in the British Touring Car Championship. Career Early years Born in Blackburn, Morgan began his career in Cadet Karts from age 8–11 (1996–99), then moved on to higher classes such as Junior TKM and Junior Max. He remained in Karts until 2004. In 2006, Morgan competed in the National Historic Rally Championship in a Ford Escort Mk1 Mexico. He won 4 out of 7 rallies entered and finished the season second in class. Morgan made his racing debut in 2008, competing in the Ma5da Championship and two rounds of the Ginetta G20 Cup, where he achieved his first race win at Pembrey. 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup
The 2011 Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup season will be the inaugural Ginetta GT Supercup season, having rebranded from the Ginetta G50 Cup, which ran between 2008 and 2010. The season will begin at Brands Hatch on 4 April and will finish after 27 races over 10 rounds at Sliverstone on 16 October, supporting all rounds of the British Touring Car Championship. The season sees a new direction for the series with a move towards a GT style class structure with two cars eligible to race in the championship. The older Ginetta G50 is still eligible to race along with the introduction of the new Ginetta G55 with , 70 more than the G50. Frank Wrathall
Frank Brian Wrathall Jnr. (born 4 October 1986 in Lancaster) is a British motor racing driver who has competed in the British Touring Car Championship. He won his first race on 21 October 2012 in the final race of the 2012 BTCC season. Having graduated from karting in 2007, Wrathall made his car racing debut in the Ginetta G20 Championship. Having spent a single season in the series, he then switched to the Ginetta G50 Cup for 2008, going on to win the title in 2010. He joined the British Touring Car Championship in 2011, driving for the family-run Dynojet Racing Team. Following a 21-month prison sentence for causing death by careless driving in 2014, Wrathall has not returned to the BTCC. 2010 Ginetta G50 Cup
The 2010 Michelin Ginetta G50 Cup was the third Ginetta G50 Cup. The season began at Thruxton on 4 April and finished after 28 races over 10 rounds at Brands Hatch on 10 October, supporting rounds of the British Touring Car Championship. Despite scoring 38 fewer points overall than title rival Carl Breeze, it was Dynojet's Frank Wrathall who became champion after a successful season in which he took five overall victories, as well as taking six other class victories in which he was the first championship-registered finisher. Ten points behind on dropped scores was Total Control Racing's Breeze, an improvement on his third place championship finish behind Nathan Freke and Wrathall in 2009. Breeze took nine overall victories, but championship hopes were thwarted by 40 penalty points picked up during the season. Nathan Freke (born 8 September 1983) is a racing driver. He was the 2006 British Formula Ford Champion. Freke has held four British Kart Racing Championship Titles and in 2005 became the only driver ever to win an FIA/CIK Superkart Race in a Division 2 Kart against Division 1 Karts, (50% power differential). Nigel Moore (racing Driver)
Nigel Moore (born 4 January 1992 in Tockwith, England) is a British racing driver. Career Moore began his racing career in karting, in which he competed until 2007, when he began racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship, which he won with eight victories. He graduated to the Ginetta G50 Cup for 2008, which he also won. He also took two GT4 class wins in the British GT Championship racing a Ginetta G50. He raced in the series full-time in 2009. His co-driver Jody Firth won the title, due to Moore missing the Knockhill round as he was racing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ginetta. Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, near the Northamptonshire villages of Towcester, Silverstone and Whittlebury. It is the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted as the 1948 British Grand Prix.
