Ginatilan, officially the Municipality of Ginatilan ( ceb, Lungsod sa Ginatilan; tgl, Bayan ng Ginatilan), is a 5th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 16,906 people. Ginatilan is bordered to the north by the town of Malabuyoc, to the west is the Tañon Strait, to the east is the town of Oslob, and to the south is the town of Samboan. It is from Cebu City. Tañon Strait
The Tañon Strait ( fil, Kipot ng Tañon) is a body of water, separating the islands of Negros and Cebu in the Visayas, Philippines. The strait, which is about long, connects the Visayan Sea in the north to the Bohol Sea in the south. Its width varies from , with the narrowest point in the south. In the north the strait is closed off by the Don Islands, the largest of which is Bantayan.
