Gillian Pamela Horovitz (née Adams) (born 7 June 1955 in Bromley, Kent) is an English female retired long-distance runner. Athletics career She competed in the late 1970s and early 1980s in the women's marathon (sport), marathon and won the 1980 Paris Marathon. She represented England at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, England in the marathon, at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Bromley, Kent
Bromley is a large town in Greater London, England, within the London Borough of Bromley. It is south-east of Charing Cross, and had an estimated population of 87,889 as of 2011. Originally part of Kent, Bromley became a market town, chartered in 1158. Its location on a coaching route and the opening of a railway station in 1858 were key to its development and the shift from an agrarian village to an urban town. The New York City Marathon (currently branded TCS New York City Marathon after its headline sponsor) is an annual marathon () that courses through the five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon in the world, with 53,627 finishers in 2019 and 98,247 applicants for the 2017 race.
