Gillham Road
Gillham Road is a major north/south main street that runs in Kansas City, Missouri from the intersection of 22nd Street at Oak Street to Harrison Road between 45th and 46th Streets. Gillham Road becomes Gillham Plaza from 31st Street to 34th Street. This causes Gillham Road to go over one block east into a residential neighborhood. Gillham Road serves as the a boundary for many historic neighborhoods, including Longfellow, Union Hill, and Hyde Park. Hyde Park is a historic neighborhood and city park in Kansas City, Missouri. Neighborhood The historic neighborhood runs north/south from Linwood Boulevard (32nd Street) to Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard (47th Street) and is bounded on the west and east by Gillham Road and Troost Avenue, respectively. Hyde Park is further separated into three smaller subdivisions: North Hyde Park, Central Hyde Park, and South Hyde Park. Armour Boulevard (35th Street) serves as the border between North Hyde Park and Central Hyde Park, and 39th Street separates Central Hyde Park from South Hyde Park. Hyde Park was a watering hole for pioneers heading west on the Santa Fe Trail. A stream and a cave with a natural spring made the area an ideal overnight spot for travelers. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is an art museum in Kansas City, Missouri, known for its encyclopedic collection of art from nearly every continent and culture, and especially for its extensive collection of Asian art. In 2007, ''Time'' magazine ranked the museum's new Bloch Building number one on its list of "The 10 Best (New and Upcoming) Architectural Marvels" which considered candidates from around the globe. On September 1, 2010, Julián Zugazagoitia (b. 1964) became the museum's fifth Director.
