Gilles Robert
Gilles Robert (born March 5, 1955) is a Canadian politician and teacher. Robert represented the riding of Prévost in the National Assembly of Quebec from 2008 to 2012. He is a member of the Parti Québécois. Born in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, Robert first obtained a bachelor's degree from the Université de Montréal in history in 1977 and later added a certificate in educational sciences from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1995. During his 30-year professional career, Robert worked as a teacher from 1977 to 1978, from 1993 to 2007 mostly in history and politics at Académie Lafontaine. He was also a project coordinator and responsible for communications at Académie Lafontaine and was a journalist for 15 years at ''L'Écho du Nord''. 2012 Quebec General Election
The 2012 Quebec general election took place in the Canadian province of Quebec on September 4, 2012. Lieutenant Governor Pierre Duchesne dissolved the National Assembly on August 1, 2012, following Premier Jean Charest's request. The Parti Québécois were elected to a minority government, with Pauline Marois becoming the first woman to be Premier of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party took second place, with Premier Jean Charest losing his seat. The newly formed party Coalition Avenir Québec led by François Legault took third place, while Québec solidaire took 2 seats out of the 125. It was the first time since 2007 (and only the third time in Quebec history) that a minority government would be formed, as no party won an absolute majority of the seats. Saint-Jérôme is a provincial electoral district in the Laurentides region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. Its territory corresponds exactly to the city of Saint-Jérôme. It was created for the 2012 election from part of the former Prévost electoral district. The Prévost electoral district consisted solely of the town of Prévost and of the city of Saint-Jérôme. An academy (Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece.
