Gilberto Pérez Valentín
Gilberto Pérez Valentín is a Puerto Rican politician and the former mayor of Maricao. Pérez is affiliated with the New Progressive Party (PNP). He served from 1993 until 2021. He has a Bachelor in Economics from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. Tenure After winning the 1992 elections, Pérez has been reelected six times (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016). In 2020 the mayor obtained 46% of the vote and lost to Wilfredo “Juny” Ruiz who obtained 53% of the vote.
