Gilberto Mestrinho
Gilberto Mestrinho de Medeiros Raposo (February 23, 1928 – July 19, 2009) was a Brazilian politician. Mestrinho served as the Governor of the state of Amazonas on three separate occasions. His first term as Governor was from 1959 until 1963. His second term in office lasted from 1983 to 1987, while his third term as Governor of Amazonas extended from 1991 until 1995. Mestrinho also served as the Mayor of Manaus from 1956 until 1958 and a Senator in the Brazilian Senate during his political career. Brazilian Senate
The Federal Senate ( pt, Senado Federal) is the upper house of the National Congress of Brazil. When created under the Imperial Constitution in 1824, it was based on the House of Lords of the British Parliament, but since the Proclamation of the Republic in 1889 and under the first republican Constitution the Federal Senate has resembled the United States Senate. The current president of the Federal Senate is Rodrigo Pacheco, a member of the Social Democratic Party from Minas Gerais. He was elected in February, 2021 for a two-year term. Manaus () is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Amazonas. It is the seventh-largest city in Brazil, with an estimated 2020 population of 2,219,580 distributed over a land area of about . Lung cancer, also known as lung carcinoma (since about 98–99% of all lung cancers are carcinomas), is a malignant lung tumor characterized by uncontrolled cell growth in tissue (biology), tissues of the lung.
