Club Gijón Basket 2015 Corpi, better known as Gijón Basket or Huniko GB2015 for sponsorship reasons, is a basketball club based in Gijón, Asturias that currently plays in Liga EBA, the fourth tier of Spanish basketball. History Gijón Basket was founded in 2015 as a merge of men's basketball club ''CB Corpi'' and women's basketball ''Formabasket''. It has the aim to replace Gijón Baloncesto, that was dissolved in 2009, as the main club of the city. On 8 May 2016, Gijón Basket completed its first competitive season promoting to Liga EBA, fourth tier, after finishing the 2015–16 season as champion of the Asturian group of Primera División. It defeated CB Castrillón in the final by 77–50. Liga EBA
Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. The lowest ranked teams of each group, are relegated to the Primera División. Kenny Tobechi Ejim (3 December 1994 – 14 February 2022) was a Canadian professional basketball player. Playing career A power forward, Ejim played professionally in Spain, Canada and Bahrain. Palacio De Deportes De Gijón
Palacio de Deportes de Gijón, officially Palacio de Deportes Presidente Adolfo Suárez, is a multi-purpose sports arena in Gijón, Asturias, Spain.
