Giambattista Giannoccaro
Giambattista Giannoccaro (born 22 October 1960 in Fasano, Italy) is an Italian racing driver and entrepreneur. He owns his own racing team, Scuderia Playteam, which he has competed for. He is an Italian GT Champion and Spanish GT Champion. He also competed in the FIA GT Championship in the 2007 season with his own team. He finished first in the GT2 Class in the 2006 Mil Milhas. He tested for his own team for A.C. Milan in the 2008 Superleague Formula season The 2008 Superleague Formula season was the inaugural Superleague Formula championship. Fasano
Fasano (; Barese: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the Province of Brindisi, Apulia, southern Italy. It is the second most populated town in the province after Brindisi, with a population in 2021 of 39,026. The FIA GT Championship was a sports car racing series organized by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) at the behest of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship was mostly concentrated in Europe, but throughout the years has visited other continents including Asia and South America. At the end of 2009, the championship was replaced by the FIA GT1 World Championship, which morphed into the FIA GT Series for 2013. 2008 Superleague Formula Season
The 2008 Superleague Formula season was the inaugural Superleague Formula championship. The season started very late in 2008 with the first round being on August 31 at Donington Park. There were six rounds (twelve races) in total with the successful season finale at Circuito Permanente de Jerez on 23 November. In the 18 cars on the grid were established A1GP and GP2 drivers as well as two ex-Formula One race starters, Robert Doornbos and Antônio Pizzonia. Mil Milhas
The Mil Milhas Brasil (also known as the Mil Milhas Brasileiras or 1000 Miles of Brazil in Portuguese) is a sports car endurance race held annually in Brazil since 1956. The Mil Milhas has been held nearly every year since its inception and is one of the longest running motor racing events in Brazil. Nearly every running has used the Interlagos circuit, but the 1997 and 1999 events were held at Brasília and Curitiba respectively. Zeca Giaffone holds the record of most wins, having won in 1981, 1984, 1986, 1988 and 1989. The 2007 FIA GT Championship was the 11th season of FIA GT Championship auto racing. Spanish GT Championship
The Spanish GT Championship / Iber GT (''Campeonato de España de GT / Iber GT'') was a Spanish auto racing series founded in 1999 and organised by the GT Sport Organización. The series runs multiple classes of grand tourer cars in events around Spain and Portugal. The series later formed the basis for the International GT Open, a European-wide series which follows a similar structure. Format For racing events, Spanish GT has changed very little since its inception. Each event consists of two races of equal distance, one run on Saturday and the other on Sunday.
