''Ghetto Love EP'' is the debut musical release from Spinnerette Spinnerette was an alternative rock band formed in 2007. The band was a vehicle for the solo career of Brody Dalle following the breakup of her previous band, The Distillers, in 2006. The band featured Tony Bevilacqua (also from The Distillers) .... It was released digitally in late 2008 through their website and Topspin Media. The EP contains four main tracks as well as a teaser mix of Spinnerette material and the music video for "Ghetto Love" (directed by Liam Lynch). "Ghetto Love" and "Distorting a Code" are also featured on their self-titled album. Spinnerette
Spinnerette was an alternative rock band formed in 2007. The band was a vehicle for the solo career of Brody Dalle following the breakup of her previous band, The Distillers, in 2006. The band featured Tony Bevilacqua (also from The Distillers), Jack Irons (What Is This?, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Walk the Moon, Eleven, Pearl Jam) and Alain Johannes (What Is This?, Walk the Moon, Eleven, Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures). Dalle stopped using the Spinnerette moniker in 2010 and continued her solo career under her own name. History Spinnerette was signed to Sire Records before Dalle negotiated out of the record contract. Initially she released one demo song on her website called "Case of the Swirls". On August 8, 2008 a blog was posted on Spinnerette's MySpace announcing that fans could now hear the first song from the upcoming album via the official website. The song is called "Valium Knights". Anthem Records
Anthem Records is an independent record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The company was formed in May 1977 by Ray Danniels and Vic Wilson with initial recording artists Rush, Max Webster, Liverpool and A Foot in Coldwater. The three members of Rush, Geddy Lee, Neil Peart and Alex Lifeson became associate directors of Anthem. Background The label's predecessor was Moon Records. Anthem was formed so that Rush would have more control of their work at home in Canada (their international deal with Mercury Records initially included Canada), and so other Canadian bands would have a home, as they could not get signed by the major labels' offices in Toronto or Montreal. Liam Lynch (musician)
William Patrick Niederst (born September 5, 1970), better known as Liam Lynch, is an American filmmaker, singer, musician, songwriter, and puppeteer. While studying at LIPA in Liverpool, Lynch co-created, co-wrote, directed, scored, and produced the 1998 MTV comedy puppet series ''The Sifl and Olly Show''. His 2003 album '' Fake Songs'' featured the song " United States of Whatever", which charted in the Top 10 in Australia and the United Kingdom. He has since become more known for directing music videos for acts such as Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Royal Blood, Tenacious D, Spinnerette, No Doubt, Eagles of Death Metal, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and They Might Be Giants.
