Ghetto Cyrano
''Ghetto Cyrano'' is the only studio album by American Contemporary R&B, R&B duo Christión. It was released on November 4, 1997, via Roc-A-Fella Records/Def Jam Recordings. The production was handled by the duo themselves, also serving as executive producers together with Damon Dash, Jay-Z and Kareem Burke, Kareem "Biggs" Burke. The album peaked at number 146 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and number 23 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. It was supported with two singles "Full of Smoke", which peaked at No. 53 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and "I Wanna Get Next to You". Christión
Christión was a male duo featuring brothers Kenni Ski and Allen Anthony, the first Contemporary R&B act to be signed to Jay-Z's Roc-A-Fella. They released their single "Full of Smoke" on Roc-A-Fella in 1996, reaching #53 on the Hot 100 and #15 on the R&B chart. The single's success got the group a deal with Def Jam Recordings, who released their debut album, ''Ghetto Cyrano'' in 1997. The album scored two more moderate hits on the charts with "Bring Back Your Love" reaching #67 on the R&B chart and "I Wanna Get Next to You" reaching #32 on the R&B chart. "I Wanna Get Next to You" is a 1976 soul single written, composed and produced by American songwriter and producer Norman Whitfield, and most famously sung by American R&B band Rose Royce. It is the third official single from the ''Car Wash'' soundtrack. The song has also become a staple on oldies radio and on adult contemporary stations. Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Kareem "Biggs" Burke (born January 19, 1974) is an American entrepreneur, record executive, and producer. He is best known as the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records along with Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and Damon "Dame" Dash. Early life Kareem Burke was born in Harlem, New York City, on January 19, 1974.
