Gheorghe Gornea
Gheorghe Gornea (2 August 1944 – 2005) was a Romanian football goalkeeper. Club career Gheorghe Gornea was born on 2 August 1944 in Sinaia, Romania and he started playing football at Carpați Sinaia, before transferring at Steaua București where he made his Divizia A debut on 30 August 1964 in a 4–0 away victory against Știința Craiova. In his second season spent at Steaua he won the Cupa României, going afterwards to play for UTA Arad where in his five years spent at the club he won two Divizia A titles, being used by coach Nicolae Dumitrescu in 30 games in the first one and in 29 matches in the second one. He also helped the team by having an appreciated performance when they eliminated the defending European Cup champions Feyenoord in the 1970–71 European Cup season, having a total of 6 appearances in the competition over the course of two seasons. Sinaia
Sinaia () is a town and a mountain resort in Prahova County, Romania. It is situated in the historical region of Muntenia. The town was named after the Sinaia Monastery of 1695, around which it was built. The monastery, in turn, is named after the Biblical Mount Sinai. King Carol I of Romania also built his summer residence, Peleș Castle, in Sinaia in the late nineteenth century. 1965–66 Cupa României
The 1965–66 Cupa României was the 28th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Steaua București against UTA Arad. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. In the first round proper, two pots were made, first pot with Divizia A teams and other teams till 16 and the second pot with the rest of teams qualified in this phase. Each tie is played as a single leg. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. In the first round proper, if a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, and if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, the team who played away will qualify. Narcis Coman (born 5 November 1946 in Giurgiu) is a retired Romanian footballer who played as a goalkeeper and was selected Romanian Footballer of the Year in 1978. Angelo Niculescu (1 October 1921 – 20 June 2015) was a Romanian football player and manager. He was the coach of the Romania national football team during the 1970 FIFA World Cup. He is best remembered in Romania for inventing the "temporizare" ("delaying") tactics in which the team keeps the possession of the ball inside its own half and the players are using many short passes from one side to another of the field in order to disrupt the opponents patience when they go out of their field to make pressing; this is also known as tiki-taka.
