Ghada Aoun
Ghada Aoun (Arabic: غادة عون) is a Lebanese judge and Mount Lebanon's state prosecutor. While some see her as a prominent and incorruptible prosecutor, others accuse her of bias towards the President Michel Aoun of the Free Patriotic Movement (whom she is not related to). Damour
Damour ( ar, الدامور) is a Lebanese Christian town that is south of Beirut. The name of the town is derived from the name of the Phoenician god Damoros who symbolized immortality ( in Arabic). Damour also remained the capital of Mount Lebanon for three centuries. Geography The city is located in one of the few flat areas of the Lebanese coast. Fadi Sawan (Arabic: فادي صوّان, born in 1960) is a Lebanese military investigative judge, who became known after being assigned with the immense task of investigating the 2020 Beirut Port explosion, one of the largest non-nuclear blasts in history, the 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate that killed more than 200 people, wounded over 6,000 and destroyed much of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on August 4, 2020. In a country where political influence over the judiciary is a problem, which is part of corruption in Lebanon, he was known for his honesty and integrity and for not receiving instructions from politicians, thus many doubted that he could accomplish his task. Tarek Bitar ( ar, طارق بيطار, Akkar, born 1974) is a Lebanese judge and the head of Beirut’s criminal court, who is the second judge to lead the investigation of the 2020 Beirut Port explosion, succeeding Fadi Sawwan who was dismissed by the Lebanese court after charging two former Amal Party ministers over the blast, which was caused by 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate negligently stored in the port for over six years. Marwan Abboud ( ar, مروان عبود; born 25 August 1969) is a Lebanese politician and judge, who was appointed governor of Beirut in June 2020. Riad Toufic Salameh (Arabic: رياض توفيق سلامة, born July 17, 1950) is the current Governor of Lebanon, Lebanon's central bank, Banque du Liban since April 1993. He was appointed Governor by decree, approved by the Council of Ministers of Lebanon, Council of Ministers for a renewable term of six years. Banque du Liban (BdL, ar, مصرف لبنان, English: Bank of Lebanon) is the central bank of Lebanon. It was established on August 1, 1963, and became fully operational on April 1, 1964.
