Gezer Regional Council ( he, מועצה אזורית גזר, ''Mo'atza Azorit Gezer'') is a regional council in the Central District of Israel. Established in 1949, it had a population of 20,700 in 2006. Regional Council (Israel)
Regional councils (plural: he, מוֹעָצוֹת אֵזוֹרִיּוֹת, ''Mo'atzot Ezoriyot''https://milog.co.il/מוֹעָצוֹת_אֵזוֹרִיּוֹת / singular: he, מוֹעָצָה אֵזוֹרִית, ''Mo'atza Ezorit'') are one of the three types of Israel's local government entities, with the other two being cities and local councils. As of 2019, there were 54 regional councils, usually responsible for governing a number of settlements spread across rural areas. Regional councils include representation of anywhere between 3 and 54 communities, usually spread over a relatively large area within geographical vicinity of each other. Each community within a regional council usually does not exceed 2,000 in population and is managed by a local committee. Mishmar David
Mishmar David ( he, מִשְׁמַר דָּוִד, ''lit.'' David's Guard) is a community settlement in central Israel. Located in the Shephelah near Mazkeret Batya, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gezer Regional Council. In it had a population of . In 2003 it became the first kibbutz to be privatised. History The village was founded as a kibbutz in 1948 by Holocaust survivors from Romania and former soldiers, and was named after David Marcus, a United States Army colonel of Romanian Jewish heritage, who assisted Israel during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War and later became the country's first general. It was established on the land of the depopulated Palestinian village of Khulda. During the 1970s the kibbutz absorbed several immigrants from the United Kingdom. Karmei Yosef
Karmei Yosef ( he, כַּרְמֵי יוֹסֵף, ''lit.'' Yosef's Vineyards) is a community settlement in the Judean foothills in central Israel. Located in the Shephelah between Bet Shemesh and Rehovot, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gezer Regional Council. In it had a population of . History Karmei Yosef was founded in 1984 by former residents of Ness Ziona and Rehovot, and was named after Yosef Sapir. Karmei Yosef is spread out over approx. 1640 dunams (approx. 410 acres) 200–260 meters above sea level, and borders the Ayalon Valley to the North and the Meginim Forest to the South. Karmei Yosef is situated in the midst of agricultural lands, mostly vineyards growing grapes for wine and eating, as well as fruit and olive groves, covering some 7500 dunams (roughly 1875 acres). Ramot Meir ( he, רָמוֹת מֵאִיר, ''lit.'' Meir Heights) is a moshav ovdim in central Israel.
