Gevelsberg Hauptbahnhof
Gevelsberg Hauptbahnhof (German for Gevelsberg main station) is a railway station in the municipality of Gevelsberg in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The station was opened along with a section of the Düsseldorf-Derendorf–Dortmund Süd railway, opened by the Rhenish Railway Company (german: Rheinische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft, ''RhE'') between Wuppertal-Wichlinghausen and Hagen RhE station (now Hagen-Eckesey depot) on 15 September 1879. It has two platform tracks and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station. It is the only Hauptbahnhof in Germany, which in fact is not a ''Bahnhof'', but a ''Haltepunkt'' ("halt", defined in Germany as having no sets of points). It and Remscheid Hauptbahnhof are the only Hauptbahnhof stations which are served only by S-Bahn trains. Gevelsberg (; Westphalian: ''Gievelsbiärg'') is a town in the district of Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Geography The town lies in the valley of the river Ennepe in the Süder Uplands, which is part of the Rhenish Massif. Gevelsberg lies about halfway between Wuppertal and Hagen, and is part of the industrial Ruhr Region. Schwelm Station
Schwelm station is the most important station in the city of Schwelm in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. All regional and S-Bahn trains stop at the station. Long-distance services pass through without stopping. History The first station building was opened by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company on 9 October 1847 along with its Elberfeld–Dortmund line. Since its inauguration, the station has been rebuilt several times, starting in 1865. In 1902, the platforms received a canopy and, on 8 November 1902, an underpass was completed to the second platform. In 1926, Schwelm became a railway junction, when the Witten–Wengern Ost/Schwelm railway was opened by Deutsche Reichsbahn. In 1988, the station became part of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn, on line S 8 from Hagen via Wuppertal to Mönchengladbach. Sprockhövel is a town in the district of Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Geography Sprockhövel is located in the southern suburban part of the Ruhr area. Witten Central Station
Witten Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the town of Witten in western Germany. It is situated southwest of the town. In 1849 the station was opened as ''Witten West'' by the '' Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft''. Wetter (Ruhr) Station
Wetter (Ruhr) station is in the district of Vorhalle in the centre of the city Wetter (Ruhr) in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is served by regional services and Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 5. History The station is located on the Elberfeld–Dortmund line and was opened on 9 March 1849 as a through station by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company. The original station building, which was built in 1850, was demolished by the Prussian state railways and replaced by the existing building in 1905. On 17 March 1920 there was fighting at the station during the Ruhr Uprising, between units of the Ruhr Red Army and a vanguard of the Freikorps Lichtschlag, in response to the Kapp Putsch.
