Gethin Jones
Gethin Clifford Jones (born 12 February 1978) is a Welsh television presenter. He was an active rugby union player while at Manchester Metropolitan University and, after graduation, he began his television career on Welsh language channel S4C as a presenter of children's programmes such as ''Popty'', ''Mas Draw'' and the flagship children's entertainment show ''Uned 5'' (''Unit 5'', 2002–2005). In 2005, Jones became the 31st presenter of BBC children's programme ''Blue Peter''. In 2020, he began presenting the BBC1 five-mornings-a-week magazine show ''Morning Live'', broadcast from studios in Manchester. After a trial run ending in December 2020, the success of the programme has seen it commissioned as an all-year-round part of the BBC1 schedule. Peter Gethin
Peter Kenneth Gethin (21 February 1940 – 5 December 2011) was a British racing driver from England. He participated in 31 World Championship Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on 21 June 1970. He won the 1971 Italian Grand Prix in the fastest average speed in Formula One history, but this was his only podium finish. Gethin also participated in numerous non-Championship Formula One races, winning the 1971 World Championship Victory Race and the 1973 Race of Champions. Gethin also raced for Team McLaren in the 1970 Canadian-American Challenge Cup series, driving the McLaren M8D that had been driven by Dan Gurney in the first three races of the season. Gethin won one race and finished third in the 1970 championship. In 1974 Gethin won the Tasman Series, a Formula 5000 series held in Australia and New Zealand. Gethin drove a Chevron B24 Chevrolet. Gethin Baronets
The Gethin Baronetcy, of Gethinsgrott in Cork, is a title in the Baronetage of Ireland. It was created on 1 August 1665 for Richard Gethin, who represented Clonmel and Newtown Limavady in the Irish House of Commons. The eighth Baronet was a Colonel in the British Army. Later generations added the name St. Lawrence, to indicate their connection to the Earl of Howth. Grace Norton, Lady Gethin, the first wife of the second Baronet, was an essayist and woman of learning. She died when she was only 21. Martin Gethin (born 16 November 1983) is a British former professional boxer who competed from 2004 to 2017. He held the British lightweight title from 2013 to 2014. Early professional career Gethin made his debut in November 2004 beating journeyman Kristian Laight stopping him in the 4th round. In his 10th fight he fought for the vacant Midlands Area lightweight title beating Craig Johnson on points over 10 rounds. An exciting fighter he received a great opportunity just two fights later to fight in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand. He beat Fabian Luque, who had a record of 21-5, and stopped him in the 4th round in what was his best win to date. On returning to the UK, Gethin trod water beating Carl Allen and Ali Wyatt until the opportunity arose for him to fight the unbeaten Nadeem Siddique. Gethin Jenkins
Gethin Jenkins (born 17 November 1980) is a Welsh former rugby union player. He won 129 international caps for Wales and five for the British & Irish Lions. Jenkins was the record cap holder for Wales until he was overtaken by Alun Wyn Jones on 29 September 2019. He is the sixth most-capped player in rugby union history and the most capped front row forward. He is one of a small group of Welsh players to have won three Grand Slams including Gerald Davies, Gareth Edwards, JPR Williams, Ryan Jones, Adam Jones and Alun Wyn Jones. On 31 October 2018 he announced his intention to retire after a final game for the Cardiff Blues against Zebre on Sunday 4 November 2018 following a recurring knee Injury. William George Gethin (4 May 1877 – 4 November 1939) was an English cricketer, who played a single first-class game for Worcestershire in 1921, when already aged 44. Stanley John Gethin (16 February 1875 – 17 February 1950) was an English first-class cricketer who played in four matches for Worcestershire.
