Get Low Records
Get Low Records is a hip hop record label founded by Memphis Bleek in 1998. History Beginnings Under the guidance of Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek founded his label, Get Low Records, in 1998. The label's first release was Memphis Bleek's gold debut, '' The Coming of Age.'' This gained the label some notoriety. During the year 2000, the label began their long-running feud with Nas. The following year, Get Low released Bleek's second album '' The Understanding,'' another gold release. After the release of this album, the feud with Nas became public and distributing label, Roc-A-Fella Records quickly came to their defense setting up the epic Jay-Z vs. Nas feud. In the time between Memphis Bleek's second and third albums, he signed former Junior M.A.F.I.A. member, Lil' Cease to the label. He would also sign Geda K. In 2003, the label began feuding with west coast rapper The Game over the similar titling of his label at the time Get Low Recordz, they would trade disses from 2003 until 2007 ...

Memphis Bleek
Malik Deshawn Cox (born June 23, 1978), known by his stage name Memphis Bleek, is an American rapper who was a protégé of fellow New York rapper Jay-Z. Cox started his own labels: Get Low Records in 1998, and #Warehouse Music Group, Warehouse Music Group in 2016. He has released four albums, the first two certified Gold. Music career Memphis Bleek was one of the first artists signed to Roc-A-Fella, as a protégé of Jay-Z. He grew up in Brooklyn's Marcy Houses, Marcy Projects, located in Bedford–Stuyvesant, the same neighborhood as Jay-Z. Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979), better known by his stage name the Game or simply Game, is an American rapper. Born in Compton, California, he initially released a series of mixtapes under the wing of fellow West Coast rapper JT the Bigga Figga. Roc-A-Fella Records was an American hip hop record label and music management company founded by record executives and entrepreneurs Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, Damon "Dame" Dash, and Kareem "Biggs" Burke in 1994. ''Coming of Age'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Memphis Bleek. It was released by Get Low Records, Roc-A-Fella, and Def Jam on August 3, 1999. The album spawned the hit single " Memphis Bleek Is...". The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on September 14, 1999 for shipment of over 500,000 units. Critical reception Matt Diehl of ''Entertainment Weekly'' praised Bleek for holding his own lyrically alongside guest artists Ja Rule and N.O.R.E., and displaying striking sensitivity on "Regular Cat". He also noted how the album's production of "ominous inner-city symphonies and raw street beats" was ageless. Sniper (rapper)
Sniper is a French hip hop band formed in 1997 in Val-d'Oise. It currently consists of Tunisiano (Bachir Baccour), Aketo (Ryad Selmi) and Blacko. Afrikaf (Karl Appela) was also a member from the group's formation to 2004; Blacko had also left the band in 2007, but returned in 2016. Beginnings The members of Sniper first met at the 1997 Francofolies festival at La Rochelle. There, DJ Boudj and the three rappers Aketo, Tunisiano and Blacko met and decided to form the group, originally called Personnalité suspecte (Suspicious Character). This name was abbreviated to Persni and finally ended up as Sniper, an example of the French slang form, known as ''verlan''. ''534'' is the fourth studio album by rapper Memphis Bleek. It was released by Get Low Records, Roc-A-Fella Records, and Def Jam Recordings on May 17, 2005. The album contains 14 songs, including the hit single "Like That" produced by Swizz Beatz. A single by Bleek's mentor and childhood friend Jay-Z entitled "Dear Summer" was produced by Just Blaze. Get Low Recordz was a San Francisco based independent record label founded in 1991 and owned by rapper/ producer JT the Bigga Figga. The first artists who released material on Get Low Recordz were JT the Bigga Figga, Get Low Playaz, San Quinn, The Game and D-Moe. In 1995, the label got a distribution deal with Priority Records for a few years. The label became involved in a beef with Memphis Bleek's record label of the same name. The label had since been dissolved.
