The Gestriklands Fotbollförbund ''(Gestrikland Football Association)'' is one of the 24 district organisations of the Swedish Football Association. It administers lower tier football in Gästrikland in Norrland. Background Gestriklands Fotbollförbund, commonly referred to as Gestriklands FF, is the governing body for football in the historical province of Gestrikland. The Association was founded on 28 March 1915 and currently has 46 member clubs. Based in Gävle, the Association's Chairman is Örjan Ohlström. Gävle
Gävle () is a city in Sweden, the seat of Gävle Municipality and the capital of Gävleborg County. It had 77,586 inhabitants in 2020, which makes it the 13th most populated city in Sweden. It is the oldest city in the historical Norrland (Sweden's Northern Lands), having received its charter in 1446 from Christopher of Bavaria. However, Gävle is far nearer to the greater Stockholm region than it is to most other major settlements in Norrland and has a much milder climate than associated with said region. In recent years, the city has received much international attention due to its large Yule Goat figure made of straw - the Gävle Goat. The goat is erected in December each year and is often subsequently vandalized, usually by being set on fire. The goat has now become a symbol for the city and is being used for various marketing purposes. Sjötulls BK
Sjötulls BK is a Swedish football club located in Gävle in Gävleborg County. Background Sjötulls Bollklubb were founded in 2002 and played their first season in the Swedish football league in 2003 in Division 6 Gästrikland where they finished in a creditable 7th place. Since their inaugural season the club have made good progress and have been promoted three times, the most recent success being winning Division 4 Gästrikland in 2010. Since their foundation Sjötulls BK has participated mainly in the lower divisions of the Swedish football league system. The club currently plays in Division 3 Södra Norrland which is the fifth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Träffen in Gävle. Swedish District Football Associations
The District Football Associations are the local governing bodies of association football in Sweden. District FAs exist to govern all aspects of local football in their defined areas, providing grassroots support to the Swedish Football Association by promoting and administering football, futsal and beach soccer in their respective districts. Most of the 24 District FAs align roughly with the boundaries of the historic Provinces of Sweden, although Stockholm FA and Gothenburg FA cover the two major cities and their immediate conurbations. Swedish Football Division 7
Division 7 is the ninth level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 47 sections with 9 to 12 football teams in each. The competition There are 47 groups of 10 to 12 teams each representing a local geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 18 to 22 games depending on the number of teams. The top team in each Division 7 group is promoted to Division 6 and the second placed teams may also be promoted or participate in the promotion/relegation play-offs. If there are divisions covering tier 10 the bottom two teams in the Division 7 group are relegated to Division 8.
