Gervais Rioux
Gervais Rioux (born 17 November 1960) is a Canadian former road bicycle racer. He rode at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Rioux is the owner of Argon 18. Professional Cycling Career From 1981 to 1990, Gervais Rioux represented Canada at major international events including the Commonwealth Games in 1982 and 1986 and the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Member of the Canadian Team throughout his senior career, Gervais Rioux took part in all the World Road Championships between 1981 and 1990. In all, he has accumulated more than 150 wins in some 1500 races and 18 years. Mont-Joli () is a city in the La Mitis Regional County Municipality within the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada. It is the county seat. The city is located east of Rimouski near the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River. History In 1867, the main condition for New Brunswick and Nova-Scotia entering into the Canadian Confederation was, to be linked to the rest of the country by the railway. In 1868, work began on the Intercolonial Railway and the authorities decided to have the railway turn at Saint-Octave-de-Métis in Gaspésie. However, this village, because of its rugged landscape, was not suitable to receive the train station and maintenance shops. Tour de Beauce is a men's elite professional road bicycle racing multi-day event held each June in the Beauce region of Quebec, Canada since 1986. It is the oldest stage-race in North America, and is a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)-rated 2.2 continental circuit stage race on the UCI America Tour. The Queen Stage of the Tour de Beauce features the ascension of the iconic Mont-Mégantic National Park, a 6-km climb averaging 10% and peaking at 18% on the highest elevation road in the Province of Quebec.
