The Gersh Agency (also known as simply Gersh) is a talent and literary agency established in 1949 by Phil Gersh, based in Beverly Hills, California and New York City. The Gersh Agency is the fourth largest talent agency in the United States. History Gersh was founded in Beverly Hills in 1949 by Phil Gersh. He was considered one of the last links between Hollywood's Golden Age and today's corporate-owned movie business, and his clients included Humphrey Bogart, David Niven, William Holden, June Allyson, Richard Burton, Lee J. Cobb, Fredric March, Gloria Grahame, James Mason, Karl Malden, and Robert Wise. In 1965, Phil Gersh was able to pay for the agency's Beverly Hills office from the proceeds of having Robert Wise direct ''The Sound of Music''. Phil Gersh gradually handed over responsibility to his two sons but continued to play a role in the company's management until 10 weeks before his death in 2004. Daemen College
Daemen University is a private university in Amherst, New York and Brooklyn, New York. Formerly Daemen College and Rosary Hill College, the now-nondenominational school was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis in 1947. As of fall 2020, 2,536 students were enrolled at Daemen (1,631 undergraduate, 905 graduate), 64 degree majors were offered in the health sciences, business, and liberal arts and other disciplines for undergraduates, and 19 programs for graduate students. In March 2022, the New York State Board of Regents approved a name change to Daemen University. Darren Gersh
Darren Gersh was the Washington, D.C. bureau chief for the PBS show, Nightly Business Report from 1995 through 2013. He made the move to public service when he joined the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on June 3, 2013. While at the CFPB, Gersh was the Senior Financial Education Campaign Coordinator, where he was responsible for developing the new educational campaign for mortgage consumers and intermediaries. He is currently a Senior Media Relations Specialist for the Federal Reserve. Gersh was educated at Yale University. He produced numerous segments for NBR including many specials with in depth coverage of the economies, cultures and issues relating to foreign countries such as China and Vietnam. Harry Gersh
Harry Gersh (December 1, 1912 – July 30, 2001) was an American writer and historian. He was the oldest known student ever to enroll as a freshman at Harvard College. Before enrolling in school he was a writer for over 50 years. Gersh was born on December 1, 1912, to Solomon and Devorah (Lampert) Gersh on in New York City. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He died on July 30, 2001, in Columbia, Maryland. Squire Gersh
William Girsback, better known as Squire Gersh (May 13, 1913 in San Francisco - April 27, 1983http://death-records.mooseroots.com/d/n/Eino-Girsback ) was an American jazz tubist and double-bassist. Gersh played in San Francisco with Lu Watters, Bob Scobey, Turk Murphy, and Mutt Carey; he recorded with Watters in 1942 and with Murphy multiple times between 1950 and 1966. He accompanied Louis Armstrong on record and for a tour of South America between 1956–58, then played in Europe with Kid Ory and Red Allen in 1959. Gersh Budker
Gersh Itskovich Budker (Герш Ицкович Будкер), also named Andrey Mikhailovich Budker (1 May 1918 – 4 July 1977), was a Soviet physicist, specialized in nuclear physics and accelerator physics. Biography He was elected a Corresponding Member of the Siberian Division of the Soviet Academy of Sciences on 28 March 1958 and was promoted to an ''Academician'' of the Division of Nuclear Physics on 26 June 1964. He is best known for his invention in 1968 of electron cooling, a method of reducing the emittance of particle beams by thermalisation with a co-propagating electron beam. Academician Budker was the founder (in 1959) and first Director of the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics in Akademgorodok, Russian SFSR. There he lived in the 100-Flat Building. Gersh Kuntzman is an Americans, American journalism, journalist. Career Journalism Kuntzman previously worked for the ''New York Post'', writing the column "MetroGnome," which ran during 1995–2004. He had a weekly column for ''Newsweek'' online that ran during 2001–2005. In 2005, Kuntzman became editor of ''The Brooklyn Paper'', a group of community newspapers covering Kings County, New York. During his tenure, he won awards for Editor of the Year and Columnist of the Year from the Suburban Newspapers of America. His editorial writing also won awards from the Independent Free Papers of America. That organization also gave The Brooklyn Paper its Vic Jose Award in 2009.
