Gerry Glasco
Gerald Dean Glasco Jr. (born October 29, 1958) is an American college softball coach who is currently head coach at Louisiana and the Women's Professional Fastpitch team Smash It Sports Vipers. Previously, Glasco had been a high school softball coach, an assistant at Georgia and Texas A&M, and National Pro Fastpitch head coach with the USSSA Pride and Scrap Yard Dawgs. Early life and education Glasco was born in 1958 in Macomb, Illinois. He attended high school at Crab Orchard High School where he lettered in baseball and basketball. He attended college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and earned a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics. Coaching career High school and travel ball (2000–2008) From 2000 to 2004 and 2007 to 2008 at Johnston City High School in Johnston City, Illinois, Glasco was varsity assistant softball coach; he was also junior varsity head coach in 2008. Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team represents the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Sun Belt Conference. The Ragin' Cajuns are currently led by soon-to-be third-year head coach Gerry Glasco after former head coach Michael Lotief was fired on November 1, 2017. Yvette Girouard was head coach from 1981 to 2000 leading the Ragin' Cajuns to 10 NCAA tournaments and three Women's College World Series appearances. 2019 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament
The 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 31 to June 4, 2019, as the final part of the 2019 NCAA Division I softball season. Thirty-two teams were awarded automatic bids as champions of their conferences, and the remaining 32 were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The 64-team, double-elimination tournament concluded with the 2019 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. The UCLA Bruins won their 13th championship, defeating the Oklahoma Sooners in two games. 2019 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball Team
The 2019 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns softball team represented the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the 2019 NCAA Division I softball season. The Ragin' Cajuns played their home games at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park and were led by second-year head coach Gerry Glasco. The Cajuns defeated Southeast Missouri State and Ole Miss early in the Oxford Regionals. They went on to the Championship Game but lost to Ole Miss 1-5, forcing the game 7. In game 7, the Cajuns rallied back from 0-3 by a three-run homerun by Raina O'Neal. They took the lead at 4-3 before losing to Ole Miss after the Rebels scored two runs late in the 7th inning. The points of the compass are a set of horizontal, radially arrayed compass directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and cartography. The LSU Tigers softball team represents Louisiana State University in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and plays home games in Tiger Park.
