Gerrit Versteeg (architect)
Gerrit Versteeg (Vlaardingen, 2 August 1872 – Arnhem, 1938) was a Dutch urban architect., Nederlands Architectuurinstituut (1997) ''Muurvast & gebeiteld: beeldhouwkunst in de bouw 1840-1940.'' p. 131 Biography Versteeg was a son of Simon Versteeg and Alida Cornelia van der Kaaden, and grew up in Vlaardingen. His father was a farmer. In 1900, Gerrit married Hendrika Aleida Costerus. Versteeg studied in Delft for carpenter, and started his career at an architectural firm. Also he was assistant to Karel Sluijterman and to Eugen Gugel for some time. Between 1901 and 1914 he was Deputy Director of Public Works in Arnhem, under the director W.F.C. Sheep. Mr. Sheep was focused on urban design, and Versteeg was designed buildings. In this period many schools and commercial buildings were built, such as the tram depot, the slaughterhouse, the power plant and vegetable auction. Zorgvlied is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 23 km west of Assen. The municipality received its name by the former villa "Zorgvlied". History From 1819 to 1823, the Maatschappij van Weldadigheid purchased large areas of heather around Groot and Klein Wateren in the market of Diever and Wateren. The Institute of Agriculture was founded in 1823 against the Frisian border. This school was one of the first in the Netherlands. Until 1859 she - the school was also known as the "teachers school" - functioned as a training institute for the Society of Humanitarianism. Hoog Soeren
Hoog Soeren is a village in the municipality of Apeldoorn, in the province of Gelderland in the Netherlands. Since 1863, it is a crown land. History It was first mentioned in 814 or 815 as "portionem de silua in Suornom". The etymology is unclear. Hoog Soeren developed in the early Middle Ages as an ''esdorp''. In 1809, the Echoput, a deep water well, was dug. The luxury hotel and restaurant De Echoput is located near the well. In 1840, it was home to 191 people.
