Germany In The Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Germany participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The German entry was selected through the national final ''Unser Lied für Lissabon'', organised by the German broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). Michael Schulte won the national final with the song "You Let Me Walk Alone". As a member of the " Big Five", Germany automatically qualified to compete in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Background Prior to the 2018 contest, Germany had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest sixty-one times since its debut as one of seven countries to take part in . Michael Schulte (singer)
Michael Anthony Schulte (; born 30 April 1990) is a German singer and songwriter. He began his singing career in 2008, posting covers on his YouTube channel and later placed third on The Voice of Germany (season 1), season one of ''The Voice of Germany'' in 2012. His debut studio album ''Wide Awake'' was released later that year. Linda Zervakis ( el, Λίντα Ζερβάκη; born 25 July 1975 in Hamburg) is a German-Greek television presenter as well as newsreader and journalist. She was the first ''Tagesschau'' presenter with an immigrant background. Voxxclub is a German Neue Volksmusik band. They are best known for their cover of "Rock Mi". History Stefan Raaflaub, Korbinian Arendt, and Florian Claus met in 2010, when they performed in the Broadway musical Singin' in the Rain. LaBrassBanda is a Bavarian brass band originating from Übersee, near Chiemsee, Bavaria, Germany. The name of the band is a portmanteau of the Italian words "la banda" and the English term "brass band", both meaning the same.
