Weimar Republic, Germany competed at the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Germany had not been invited to the inaugural 1924 Winter Olympics, 1924 Games due to its role in World War I. Nordic combined Events: * 18 km cross-country skiing * normal hill ski jumping The cross-country skiing part of this event was combined with the Cross-country skiing at the 1928 Winter Olympics, main medal event of cross-country skiing. Some athletes (but not all) entered in both the cross-country skiing and Nordic combined event, their time on the 18 km was used for both events. The German Olympic Sports Confederation (german: Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund or DOSB) was founded on 20 May 2006 by a merger of the ''Deutscher Sportbund'' (DSB), and the ''Nationales Olympisches Komitee für Deutschland'' (NOK) which dates back to 1895, the year it was founded and recognized as NOC by the IOC. Seated in Frankfurt am Main, it represents 89,000 clubs and 27,000,000 members, about a third of the population of Germany. Presidential Board DOSB-President is Alfons Hörmann.
