German Globetrotter Club
The ''Deutsche Zentrale für Globetrotter'' (DZG, in English the "German Globetrotter Club") is the largest non-commercial community of adventure travelers with about 800 members in 23 countries in Europe. It is the oldest Globetrotters Club after the British one, called simply the " Globetrotters Club". History In 1974 the German Globetrotters Club was founded by Ludmilla Tüting, Friedemann von Engel, Lutz Fehling, Norbert Denninghaus, Erich Drönner, Peter Fritze, Werner Göcke, Wolfgang Köhler, Reinhold Korte and Hannelore Vasel. Serving as a model was the "Globetrotters Club" established in 1948 in England. The idea and name came from Ludmilla Tüting, who dedicated the classic 1972 globetrotter handbook ''Von Alaska bis Feuerland'' ("From Alaska to Tierra del Fuego") to "the first German club for globetrotters". Hachenburg is a town in the Westerwaldkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Geography The town lies in the Westerwald between Koblenz and Siegen, roughly 10 km west of Bad Marienberg on the river Nister. Gunther von Hagens (born Gunther Gerhard Liebchen; 10 January 1945) is a German anatomist who invented the technique for preserving biological tissue specimens called plastination. He has organized numerous ''Body Worlds'' public exhibitions and occasional live demonstrations of his and his colleagues' work, and has traveled worldwide to promote its educational value. The sourcing of biological specimens for his exhibits has been controversial, but he insists that informed consent was given before the death of donors, and extensive documentation of this has been made available. Pumori
Pumori ( ne, पुमोरी, ) (or Pumo Ri) is a mountain on the Nepal-China border in the Mahalangur section of the Himalayas. Pumori lies just eight kilometres west of Mount Everest. Pumori, meaning "the Mountain Daughter" in Sherpa language, was named by George Mallory. "Pumo" means young girl or daughter and "Ri" means mountain in Sherpa language. Climbers sometimes refer to Pumori as "Everest's Daughter". Mallory also called it Clare Peak, after his daughter. Pumori is a popular climbing peak. The easiest route is graded class 3, although with significant avalanche danger. Pumori was first climbed on May 17, 1962, by Gerhard Lenser on a German-Swiss expedition. Oskar Lafontaine (; born 16 September 1943) is a German politician. He served as Minister-President of the state of Saarland from 1985 to 1998, and was federal leader of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) from 1995 to 1999. Exhibition The Saarbrücker Abenteuermuseum, founded by the globetrotter, artist, author, and filmmaker Heinz Rox-Schulz, was an institution of the capital of Saarland.
