Carl Gerlinger
Carl Gerlinger, Sr. was an American businessperson in the U.S. state of Oregon in the early 20th century. A cousin of notable lumberman George T. Gerlinger, Carl was born in on March 28, 1878, to George and Matline Gerlinger in Neuwiller-les-Saverne, Alsace-Lorraine Germany. He was raised in France. In 1901, Carl went to the US as an engineer aboard a Hamburg-American Line ship. When it docked in Tacoma, Washington, Carl was taken to the Tacoma Hospital suffering from malaria. Louis Gerlinger, Sr., Carl's uncle, persuaded Carl to make his home in Portland, Oregon. There he worked for the Oregon-Washington Railroad & Navigation Co. (OWR&N). Christoph Gerlinger
Christoph Gerlinger (born July 27, 1967 in Frankfurt/Main, West Germany) is a German venture capitalist and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder and CEO of the former venture capital investor German Startups Group, which is publicly listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and was transformed into a Private Equity firm in late 2020. Prior to that he was a senior executive and entrepreneur in computer and online games companies since 1996. He was CEO of the Massively multiplayer online game, MMO Games publisher (now Gameforge Berlin AG), listed at Frankfurt stock exchange from 2006 until its takeover in 2010. Gerlinger was named one of Germany's most 50 interesting young entrepreneurs by a leading German business magazine. Irene Hazard Gerlinger
Irene Strang Hazard Gerlinger (December 3, 1876 – April 5, 1960) was an American fundraiser and the first woman on the University of Oregon Board of Regents. She is the namesake for Gerlinger Hall on the University of Oregon campus. Irene Hazard, daughter of James Rider Hazard and Evangeline Strang, was born in 1876 in Orange County, New York, on her family's farm.
