Gergő Zalánki (born 26 February 1995) is a Hungarian professional water polo player. He was part of the Hungary men's national water polo team, national team of Hungary at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Eger
Eger ( , ; ; also known by other #Names and etymology, alternative names) is the county seat of Heves County, and the second largest city in Northern Hungary (after Miskolc). A city with county rights, Eger is best known for Castle of Eger, its medieval castle, Turkish bath, thermal baths, baroque buildings, the northernmost Eger minaret, Ottoman minaret, and red wines. Its population of around 53,000 (2017) makes it the 19th largest centre of population in Hungary, according to the census. The town is located on the Eger Stream (a tributary of the Tisza river), on the hills between the Mátra and Bükk Mountains, Bükk mountains. The men's water polo tournament at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships, organised by the FINA, was held in Budapest, Hungary from 17 to 29 July 2017. Országos Bajnokság I (, commonly abbreviated OB I) is the highest level water polo league for men in Hungary, that is administered and supervised by the Hungarian Water Polo Federation. 2016 Men's European Water Polo Championship
The 2016 Men's European Water Polo Championship was held in Belgrade, Serbia. Serbia won their seventh, and third straight, title by defeating the Montenegro 10–8 in the final. Hungary captured the bronze medal after a 13–10 win over Greece. Qualification For the first time, the tournament will be contested by 16 countries (12 previously). 2022 Men's European Water Polo Championship
The 2022 Men's European Water Polo Championship was the 35th running of the tournament. It was held in the Spaladium Arena in Split, Croatia from 29 August to 10 September 2022. Croatia won their second title by defeating Hungary in the final, meanwhile Spain beat Italy to secure the bronze medal. Venues LEN announced on 28 August 2020 that Split, Croatia would host the 2022 edition of the competition. All games will be played at the Spaladium Arena. It was held at the Danube Arena in Budapest, Hungary, from 14 to 26 January 2020. Hungary claimed their 13th title by defeating Spain in the final. European Water Polo Championship
The European Water Polo Championship is a sport competition for national water polo teams, currently held biannually and organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN), the governing European aquatics federation. There are both men's and women's competitions. The first European Water Polo Championship was held in 1926 in Budapest, Hungary, with just a men's competition. The women for the first time competed in 1985 (Oslo, Norway) for the European title. 2018 FINA Men's Water Polo World Cup
The 16th edition of the Men's FINA Water Polo World Cup were held in Berlin, Germany from September 11 to September 16, 2018. Like the final tournament of the 2007 FINA Men's Water Polo World League all matches were contested in the Europasportpark swimming pool. Format 8 teams qualified for the 2018 FINA World Cup. They were split into two groups of 4 teams. After playing a Round-robin tournament, Round-robin every team advanced to the quarterfinals.
