Gerardo Espinoza
Gerardo Espinoza Ahumada (born 3 October 1981) is a Mexican former professional footballer and current manager. Playing career Club Gerardo played for Atlante for a year and went back to Santos Laguna, but was transferred to Club Atlas before he got to play for Santos. Espinoza was transferred to Atlas for the Apertura 2009 season. International He was part of the Mexican 2004 Olympic football team, who were eliminated in the first round, having finished third in group A, below group winners Mali and South Korea. Managerial career He was appointed as the interim manager for Atlas on January 15, 2018, replacing José Guadalupe Cruz. He was in charge for two matches, losing against Toluca in the league and defeating Tampico Madero in the Copa MX. The 2020–21 Liga de Expansión MX season is the first professional season of the second-tier football division in Mexico. The season is divided into two championships—the Torneo Apertura and the Torneo Clausura—each in an identical format and each contested by the same sixteen teams. The CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship was a quadrennial, international, age-restricted football tournament organized by CONCACAF to determine which men's under-23 national teams from the North, Central America and Caribbean region qualify for the Olympic football tournament. The competition format had varied since its inception, from 1996 to the final edition in 2020 it had been hosted in a single country. Rubén Omar Romano
Rubén Omar Romano Cachía (born May 18, 1958 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine former footballer and current manager. Footballer career Romano played in Argentina for Club Atlético Huracán before leaving for Mexico in 1980 to play for Club América. He played in seven other Mexican clubs: León, Necaxa, Puebla, Querétaro, Cruz Azul, Atlante, and Veracruz. He was a left footed player with a great talent for free kicks as well as an extraordinary playmaker. His best times were in León and Atlante. He retired as a player at Atlante after the 1994–1995 season and scored 2 goals in his last game (Atlante 6-6 Puebla). In total, Romano scored 102 goals in the Mexican Football League. The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence.
