Geraldo Melo
Geraldo José da Câmara Ferreira de Melo (12 July 1935 – 6 March 2022) was a Brazilian businessman, politician and journalist. Life and career Geraldo worked as journalist until 1959, the year he graduated in Economic Development at United Nations' United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, CEPAL. He was a founding member of :pt:Superintendência_do_Desenvolvimento_do_Nordeste, Sudene, where he was appointed as Head of the Basic Economic Activities department under the leadership of Celso Furtado. In 1961 he obtained a degree in Economic Development Financing from :es:Centro_de_Estudios_Monetarios_Latinoamericanos, CEMLA, in Mexico City, where he interned at the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank, Inter-American Bank of Development. Campo Grande, formerly Augusto Severo is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality in the states of Brazil, state of Rio Grande do Norte in the Northeast Region, Brazil, Northeast region of Brazil. From 1903 until 1991 Campo Grande was named Augusto Severo after noted Brazilian aeronaut Augusto Severo de Albuquerque Maranhão (1864–1902), who died in a fiery dirigible crash in Paris, France.
