Gerald Gillion
Gerald Gillion (born October 10, 1985) is an American men's basketball coach. He is currently the head coach of Chicago State Cougars men's basketball, Chicago State. Gillion attended Florida State University. He graduated with a degree in social science in 2008. Gillion began his coaching career when he was named head coach of Northeast High School (Oakland Park, Florida), Northeast High School in Oakland Park, Florida in 2008. In his first season, he led the team to 20 wins and a district title, despite winning 10 games the season before. In 2013, Gillion was hired as the director of basketball operations at FIU Panthers men's basketball, FIU. He joined the staff of Orlando Antigua as a special assistant to the head coach at South Florida Bulls men's basketball, South Florida in 2014. Chicago State Cougars Men's Basketball
The Chicago State Cougars men's basketball team represents Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The team currently competes as an independent and is led by first-year coach Gerald Gillion, who was hired on July 19, 2021. The Cougars play their home games at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center. The 2021 Cougars beat the New Mexico State Aggies 61-59 at the last second for probably the biggest win in program history. The Cougars have never beaten a ranked team. The 2021–22 Chicago State Cougars men's basketball team represented Chicago State University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars were led by first-year head coach Gerald Gillion. They played their home games at the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center as members of the Western Athletic Conference. This was Chicago State's final season in the WAC, and a new conference has yet to be officially announced.
