Andrew Jacobs (lawyer)
Andrew Jacobs (February 22, 1906 – December 17, 1992) was a lawyer, judge, and Congressman for one term, in Indiana. His son, Andrew Jacobs Jr., was also a Congressman. Biography Jacobs attended the public schools near his birthplace (Gerald, Indiana), and later attended St. Benedict's College, Atchison, Kansas. He graduated from Ben Harrison Law School, in Indianapolis in 1928. He served as public defender in Marion County Felony Court, 1930–33. In 1948 he was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-first United States Congress (January 3, 1949 – January 3, 1951). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1950. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Tobin Township is one of seven townships in Perry County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 768 and it contained 418 housing units. History Several members of the Tobin family were among the pioneer settlers who arrived to Tobin Township in the 1810s. The crash of Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 710, which killed 63 people on March 17, 1960 occurred in Tobin Township.
