Georgy Kechaari
Georgy Avetisovich Kechaari ( udi, Jora Avetisiğar Keçaari; az, Georgi Avetis oğlu Keçaari; russian: Георгий Аветисович Кечаари; 25 July 1930 – 8 September 2006) was an Udi writer, educator, public figure and scientist. Life He was born in the settlement of Nic, in the Qəbələ Rayon of the Azerbaijan in 1930. In 1946, he went to Baku to pursue Oriental studies at the Baku State University. After finishing his studies in 1952, he returned to his native village and worked as a school teacher. Throughout his life, along with teaching, he regularly was engaged in creative outlets. Kechaari developed a primer and a program to teach the Udi language to school children. He published a number of original works and translated works into Udi. Moreover, he authored many other articles and books devoted to the Udi people. Kechaari headed ''Orayin'', an Udi cultural-educational society, for many years. He died in 2006 and was buried in Nic. Udi People
Udis (endonym ''Udi'' or ''Uti'') are a native people of the Caucasus that currently live mainly in Russia and Azerbaijan, with smaller populations in Georgia (country), Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries. Nij (also known as Nidzh; az, Nic; Udi language, Udi: ''НыъжӀ'' or ''НиъжӀ'') is a town in the Qabala District of Azerbaijan, located forty kilometers south-west of Qabala. Qabala District ( az, Qəbələ rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the north of the country and belongs to the Shaki-Zagatala Economic Region. Baku State University
Baku State University (BSU) ( az, Bakı Dövlət Universiteti (BDU)) is a public university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. Established in 1919 by the Parliament of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the university started with faculties of history and philology, physics and mathematics, and law and medicine, with an initial enrollment of 1094. The first rector of BSU was V.I.Razumovsky, a former professor of surgery at Kazan University. In 1930, the government ordered the university shut down in accordance with a reorganization of higher education, and the university was replaced with the Supreme Pedagogical Institute.
