State Route 284 (SR 284) is a south–north state highway located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The route's routing is in Hall and White counties. Route description SR 284 begins at an intersection with SR 11 Business (NE Cleveland Highway) in Gainesville. The route heads southeast to an intersection with US 129/ SR 11 (Limestone Parkway NE) just before leaving the city. Just after this intersection, SR 284 curves to the northeast, along Clarks Bridge Road. A short distance northeast of Gainesville, the road crosses the Chattahoochee River arm of Lake Lanier. The route continues northeast until it meets Glade Farm Road. There, it curves to the northwest to an intersection with SR 52 (Lula Road) south of Clermont. Gainesville, Georgia
The city of Gainesville is the county seat of Hall County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 42,296. Because of its large number of poultry processing plants, it is often called the "Poultry Capital of the World." State Route 283 (SR 283) is a south-north state highway that runs in a wide arc in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. Its route is located entirely within Hall County. Route description SR 283 begins at an intersection with SR 60 (Thompson Bridge Road) northwest of Gainesville. It heads northeast, crossing the Wahoo Creek arm of Lake Lanier. Concurrency (road)
A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Other terminology for a concurrency includes overlap, coincidence, duplex (two concurrent routes), triplex (three concurrent routes), multiplex (any number of concurrent routes), dual routing or triple routing. Concurrent numbering can become very common in jurisdictions that allow it. Where multiple routes must pass between a single mountain crossing or over a bridge, or through a major city, it is often economically and practically advantageous for them all to be accommodated on a single physical roadway. State Route 52 (SR 52) is a state highway that travels west to east through portions of Whitfield, Murray, Gilmer, Dawson, Lumpkin, Hall, Banks, and Jackson counties in the northern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway extends from its western terminus at Interstate 75 (I-75) in Dalton to its eastern terminus at SR 98 in Maysville. Lake Lanier
Lake Lanier (officially Lake Sidney Lanier) is a reservoir in the northern portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. It was created by the completion of Buford Dam on the Chattahoochee River in 1956, and is also fed by the waters of the Chestatee River. The lake encompasses or of water, and of shoreline at normal level, a "full pool" of above mean sea level and the exact shoreline varies by resolution according to the coastline paradox. Named for poet Sidney Lanier, it was built and is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and water supplies. Clermont is a town in Hall County, Georgia, United States. The population was 875 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Gainesville, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area. History An early variant name was "Dip". A post office called Dip was established in 1892, and the name was changed to Clermont in 1905.
