Montezuma, Georgia
Montezuma is a city in Macon County, Georgia ( ZIP code ''31063''). The population was 3,460 at the 2010 census, a decrease of 13.5% since 2000. It is home to the armory of Bravo Company, 648th Engineers of the Georgia Army National Guard. History Montezuma had its start in 1851, when the railroad was extended to that point. The city was named after the famous Aztec leader by soldiers returning from the Mexican-American War. It was incorporated in 1854. Montezuma is also home to a thriving Mennonite community, because 10 to 15 Mennonite families moved from Virginia in the 1950s. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.5 square miles (11.7 km), of which, 4.5 square miles (11.7 km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km) of it (0.66%) is water. State Route 127 (SR 127) is a state highway that runs west-to-east through portions of Marion, Taylor, Macon, and Houston counties in the west-central and central parts of the U.S. state of Georgia. It connects the north-central part of Marion County with the Perry– Warner Robins area. Route description SR 127 begins at an intersection with SR 41, about halfway between Buena Vista and Juniper, in Marion County. It heads east to an intersection with SR 240 (Ronnie Road). State Route 11 (SR 11) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Georgia, traveling through portions of Echols, Lanier, Berrien, Irwin, Ben Hill, Wilcox, Pulaski, Houston, Peach, Bibb, Jones, Jasper, Newton, Walton, Barrow, Jackson, Hall, White, Lumpkin, and Union counties. Interstate 75 In Georgia
Interstate 75 (I-75) in the US state of Georgia travels north–south along the U.S. Route 41 (US 41) corridor in the central part of the state, traveling through the cities of Valdosta, Macon, and Atlanta. It is also designated—but not signed—as State Route 401 (SR 401). I-75 is the only Interstate to traverse the full length of the state from north to south. In Downtown Atlanta, I-75 joins with I-85 as the Downtown Connector. The segment from SR 49 in Byron to I-16 in Macon is part of the Fall Line Freeway and may be incorporated into the eastern extension of I-14, which is currently entirely within Central Texas and is proposed to be extended to Augusta. Georgia State Route 7
State Route 7 (SR 7) is a state highway that travels in a southeast-to-northwest orientation through portions of Lowndes, Cook, Tift, Turner, Crisp, Dooly, Houston, Peach, Crawford, Monroe, Lamar, Pike, and Spalding counties in the southern and central parts of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway connects the Florida state line southeast of Lake Park to the Griffin area, via Valdosta, Tifton, Cordele, Perry, and Barnesville. The highway is concurrent with either US 41 or US 341 for its entire length, and closely parallels I-75 for much of its length. Perry is a city in Houston and Peach counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is the county seat of Houston County. The population was 13,839 at the 2010 census, up from 9,602 at the 2000 census. As of 2019 the estimated population was 17,894. It is part of the Warner Robins, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area, within the Macon–Bibb County–Warner Robins Combined Statistical Area.
