Georgia State Route 146
State Route 146 (SR 146) is a state highway that runs west-to-east through portions of Catoosa county in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. Route description The route begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 27 (US 27) and SR 1 in Fort Oglethorpe. It heads east to an interchange with Interstate 75 (I-75), northwest of Indian Springs. It curves to the northeast to meet its eastern terminus at US 41/ US 76/ SR 3, also northwest of Indian Springs. SR 146 is not part of the National Highway System. Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia
Fort Oglethorpe is a city predominantly in Catoosa County with some portions in Walker County in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 10,423. It is part of the Chattanooga, TN–GA Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is home to Lakeview – Fort Oglethorpe High School. History The United States Army established a cavalry post at the site of Hargrave, Georgia, an unincorporated town situated next to the Chickamauga National Battlefield. The existing settlement was named for a Confederate soldier, William Hamilton Hargrave, who along with his wife Amelia Cecilia Strange-Hargrave owned most of the land in the area. The couple was well known in the 19th century to travellers heading to Ross's Landing on the Tennessee River from LaFayette, Georgia. Catoosa County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 67,872. The county seat is Ringgold. Northwest Georgia
Northwest Georgia is a region of the state of Georgia in the United States. It includes 12 counties (listed in the section below), which at the 2010 census had a combined population of 753,032. Interstate 75 In Georgia
Interstate 75 (I-75) in the US state of Georgia travels north–south along the U.S. Route 41 (US 41) corridor in the central part of the state, traveling through the cities of Valdosta, Macon, and Atlanta. It is also designated—but not signed—as State Route 401 (SR 401). I-75 is the only Interstate to traverse the full length of the state from north to south. In Downtown Atlanta, I-75 joins with I-85 as the Downtown Connector. State Route 3 (SR 3) is a state highway that travels south-to-north through portions of the western part of the U.S. state of Georgia, roughly paralleling Interstate 75 (I-75). The highway travels from its southern terminus at the Florida state line, where SR 3 and SR 300 both reach their southern terminus, concurrent with US 19. Here, US 19 travels concurrent with State Road 57, south-southeast of Thomasville.
