Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes Women's Basketball
The Georgia Southwestern State Hurricanes (also Georgia Southwestern or GSW) are the athletic teams that represent the Georgia Southwestern State University, located in Americus, Georgia, in intercollegiate sports at the Division II level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), primarily competing in the Peach Belt Conference since the 2006–07 academic year. Georgia Southwestern competes in ten intercollegiate varsity sports. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, and soccer; while women's sports include basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, and tennis. Georgia Southwestern State University
Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) is a public university in Americus, Georgia. It is part of the University System of Georgia and offers bachelor's degree programs along with selected master's and specialist degree programs. History Georgia Southwestern State University, originally the Third District Agricultural and Mechanical School, was founded in 1906. In 1926, the Georgia General Assembly granted the school a charter that authorized it to become a two-year college and to change its name to the Third District Agricultural and Normal College. The new charter also allowed the school to offer teacher training courses. The State Department of Education granted teacher certification to all students who completed the teacher training program. Peach Belt Conference
The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. The 11 member institutions are located in the South Atlantic states of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. In addition, five affiliate members participate in one sport each; namely sports not sponsored by their home conferences. NCAA Division II
NCAA Division II (D-II) is an intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III. Before 1973, the NCAA's smaller schools were grouped together in the College Division. In 1973, the College Division split in two when the NCAA began using numeric designations for its competitions. Adam Nathan Campbell Thoseby (born 25 November 1991) is a British-Australian professional basketball player for the Ballarat Miners of the NBL1 South. Born in Australia, Thoseby grew up in England and began playing for the Reading Rockets in 2009–10 before moving to the United States. He played college basketball between 2011 and 2016 for Utah State, South Dakota and Georgia Southwestern State. Vincent Norrman
Vincent Oliver Norrman (born 24 December 1997) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He won the 2023 Barbasol Championship, as well as the 2023 Horizon Irish Open. As an amateur, he was part of the Swedish team winning the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship.
