Georgia Miansarow
Georgia Miansarow (born 31 August 1992) is an English born, Australian representative lightweight rower. She is a three-time national champion and won medals at both World Rowing U23 Championships and senior World Rowing Championships in crewed sculling boats. Club and state rowing Raised in England, Miansarow rowed at school and then relocated to Sydney with her Australian mother and British father in 2011 aged 19. Her senior rowing in Australia was initially from the Mosman Rowing Club and later the Sydney University Boat Club. She made her first state representative appearance for New South Wales, in the 2012 women's youth eight which contested and won the Bicentennial Cup at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. In 2014 she moved into the New South Wales lightweight quad contesting the Victoria Cup, and she rowed in that event on four occasions between 2014 & 2018 and then again in 2023. Mosman Rowing Club
Mosman Rowing Club is an all-level competitive and recreational rowing club on the North Shore of Sydney. Since 2007 the club's facilities have been wholly located at The Spit in Sydney's Middle Harbour, the northern arm of Port Jackson. Mercantile club history Mosman's red and white hooped racing colours date back to 1873 when the Mercantile Rowing Club was founded on the west side of Sydney's Circular Quay at Dawes Point. A meeting of warehousemen and merchants' clerks had decided to form a second club the second in the colony (after Sydney Rowing Club). Henry Woolnough was the club's first chairman, he had earlier been a committee member at Sydney. Mercantile's first patron was the Governor of the New South Wales, Sir Hercules Robinson. Maia Simmonds (born 8 June 1986 in Perth) is an Australian former representative rower. She is a three-time national champion, rowed for her home state of Western Australia in both lightweight and heavyweight crews, in sculling and sweep-oared boats and won a silver medal at the 2014 World Rowing Championships. Club and state rowing Raised in Perth, Simmond's senior rowing club rowing was from the University of Western Australia. In 2010 she rowed in the Uni of WA women's eight which won the Intervarsity Championship at the 2010 Australian Universities Championships. Simmonds made her first state representative appearance for Western Australia, in the 2011 women's lightweight quad scull which contested the Victoria Cup and placed second at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. Alice Arch (born 5 Jan 1994) is an Australian former representative lightweight rower. She was a national champion and won a silver medal at the 2017 World Rowing Championships. Club and state rowing Arch was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne where she took up rowing. Her senior club rowing has been from the Melbourne University Boat Club. Arch first made state selection for Victoria in 2015 in the women's lightweight quad scull contesting the Victoria Cup at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. She made four consecutive Victoria Cup appearances for Victoria from 2015 to 2018 and was in the winning Victorian quad of 2016. Amy James (born 29 July 1993) is an Australian representative lightweight rower. She is a two-time national champion and won a silver medal at the 2017 World Rowing Championships. Club and state rowing James' senior club rowing has been from the Toowong Rowing Club. James first made state selection for Queensland in 2011 in the women's lightweight quad scull which contested and won the Victoria Cup at the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships. She rowed again in 2012 in the Victoria Cup for Queensland. In 2016 she regained her seat in the Queensland lightweight quad contesting the Victoria Cup and stroked that crew to a second place. She was seated at two in the victorious 2017 crew and held that same seat in 2018. The 2015 World Rowing Championships were World Rowing Championships that were held from 30 August to 6 September 2015 at Lac d'Aiguebelette, Aiguebelette in France. Description The annual week-long rowing regatta was organized by FISA (the International Rowing Federation). In non-Olympic years the regatta is the highlight of the international rowing calendar, and as 2015 was a pre-Olympic year, the championships were also the main qualification event for the following year's Olympics and Paralympics. Hannah Every-Hall (born 18 November 1977 in Bendigo) is an Australian former rower, a national champion, World Champion and Olympian. She is married to Michael Hall (born 19 November 1983) and they have a son named Harrison Hall (born 19 November 2006) Club and state rowing Every-Hall's senior rowing was done from the Banks Rowing Club in Melbourne and the Dutton Park Rowing Club in Brisbane. She raced in Victorian representative women's lightweight quad sculls who contested the Victoria Cup at the Interstate Regatta in 1999 (to victory), 2000, 2001 and 2002. Sydney University Boat Club
Sydney University Boat Club is the rowing club in Sydney, Australia with the oldest charter having been formed in 1860 by the founders of the University of Sydney. It has had a boatshed presence in various locations on Sydney Harbour since 1886, excepting between 1941 and 1966. A varsity and recreational club during most of its history, the Boat Club has since the 1990s had a focus on its high performance and elite rowing programs.
