Georgia At The 2018 Winter Paralympics
Georgia sent competitors to the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The team has two people who are competing in para-Nordic skiing. One is a man and one is a woman. Team Georgia leaves to go to Pyeongchang on March 6. Georgia, North Korea and Tajikistan are the three countries making their first appearance Winter Paralympics. The table below contains the list of members of people (called "Team Georgia") that will be participating in the 2018 Games. Para-Nordic skiing Skiers Temuri Dadiani competes in three sports: cycling, wheelchair fencing and para-Nordic skiing. He competed in cycling at the 2017 Invictus Games. He has a Guinness World Record. It is for doing 44 push-ups in one minute. Dadiani was in the military. While an officer in Afghanistan in August 2011, he was hit by a landmine. Georgian Paralympic Committee
Georgian Paralympic Committee is the National Paralympic Committee in Georgia for the Paralympic Games movement. It is a non-profit organisation that selects teams, and raises funds to send Georgian competitors to Paralympic events organised by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Shalva Maisuradze is the organization's president. Irma Khetsuriani, a member of the Georgian national wheelchair fencing team, works for the Georgian Paralympic Committee as an office manager. The country's NPC was established in 2003. The country would first send competitors to the Paralympic Games in 2008. David Maisuradze was in charge of the organization from 2003 to 2011. In 2011, the organization approved a new charter and Levan Odisharia became the new president. Paralympic Nordic skiing is a Winter Paralympics sport consisting of biathlon and cross-country skiing. The sport is governed by the International Paralympic Committee, with its subcommittee for Nordic skiing known as World Para Nordic Skiing. Paralympic Nordic skiing includes standing events, sitting events (for wheelchair users), and events for visually impaired athletes. Temuri Dadiani
The Timuri, or Taimuri ( fa, تیموری), are a sub-tribe of the Aimaq people of Afghanistan and Iran, one of the four major Aimaq tribes, which also include the Firozkohi, Taymani, and Jamshidi. The Timuri originated in western Badghis Province. They mostly speak the Aimaq dialect of Persian, but some members of the tribe in Baghlan Province have adopted Pashto.
