Georgi Rusev (footballer)
Georgi Rusenov Rusev ( bg, Георги Русенов Русев; born 2 July 1998) is a Bulgarian professional footballer who plays for Swiss Challenge League club Sion as a right winger. Club career Rusev started his youth career with the academy of DIT Sofia before moving to the academy of Spanish club Elche CF in 2016. On 27 August, he made his debut for the B-team, starting in a 1–0 defeat against CD Castellón. After being rarely used, he joined the reserve team of Getafe CF on 14 December 2017. On 5 June 2018, he returned to Bulgaria and joined Septemvri Sofia. On 23 July, he made his debut for the club in a 0–0 draw against FC Vereya. On 29 December 2023, Sion announced they had signed Rusev for an undisclosed fee, with Rusev joining the team on 2 January 2024. Stara Zagora ( bg, Стара Загора, ) is the sixth-largest city in Bulgaria, and the administrative capital of the homonymous Stara Zagora Province. Name The name comes from the Slavic root ''star'' ("old") and the name of the medieval region of Zagore ("beyond the alkanmountains" in Slavic) The original name was Beroe, which was changed to Ulpia Augusta Traiana by the Romans. FC Vereya
Vereya ( bg, Верея) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Stara Zagora, which currently competes in the Southeast Third League, the third tier of Bulgarian football. Vereya was founded in 2001. The team made a remarkable rise through the levels of the Bulgarian football system, and by 2016, the club reached the top level of Bulgarian football, the First League, for the first time. The Bulgarian Second Professional Football League ( bg, Втора професионална футболна лига, Vtora Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as Second League ( bg, Втора Лига) or Vtora liga, is the second level of the Bulgarian football league system, below First League and above the Third League. The 2019–20 Second League was the 65th season of the Second League, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system, and the 4th season under this name and current league structure. The season began in July 2019 and ended in May 2020, but without playing all the scheduled games. The two promotion/relegation playoffs (involving teams from the First League as well) were held in July 2020. Tercera División ( en, Third Division) was the fourth tier of the Spanish football league system. Founded in 1929, it was below the ''Primera División'' (also known as La Liga), the ''Segunda División'', and the semi-professional ''Segunda División B''. The Gibraltar national football team represents Gibraltar in international football competitions, and is controlled by the Gibraltar Football Association. Gibraltar applied for full UEFA membership and was accepted by the UEFA Congress in May 2013.
