Georgi Iliev (businessman)
Georgi Andreev Iliev ( bg, Георги Андреев Илиев) (July 22, 1966 – August 25, 2005) was a Bulgarian businessman, best known for being a mobster, just like his brother and continuing the operation of their crime syndicate VIS. Biography In his early years he won several wrestling competitions and a few gold medals, but had to stop his sports career because of a criminal conviction due to his involvement in a group rape. Upon his release from prison he became something of a small-time criminal. After the death of his brother Vasil Iliev, he became the boss of a criminal organization called VIS, which fronted as a legitimate security and insurance provider. The former head secretary of the Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs Boyko Borisov claims to information showing Georgi Iliev's involvement in drug dealing and smuggling operations. Georgi Iliev ( bg, Георги Илиев; 5 September 1981) is a Bulgarian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder from 2000 to 2019, notably for Cherno More Varna, where he made over 350 appearances for the club in all competitions. Iliev is the second highest scorer for Cherno More in the Bulgarian top league with 71 goals. His playing career included also spells at Lokomotiv Plovdiv and CSKA Sofia. Iliev holds the record for the highest number of appearances in the Bulgarian top league, with 461 – 318 for Cherno More, 86 for Lokomotiv and 57 for CSKA. He also gained 24 Bulgaria caps between 2004 and 2019. Club career Cherno More Born in Varna, Iliev was taken on by Cherno More Varna at an early age and signed a professional contract in July 2000. Career In his career, Iliev played for Sliven, CSKA Sofia, Slavia Sofia, Loko Sofia and Dunav Ruse. With CSKA Sofia, he won 4 A PFG titles between 1980 and 1983 and was also Bulgarian Cup holder twice – in 1981 and 1983. Iliev managed the "armymen" from 1990 to 1993. He is also a businessman.
