Georgette Mosbacher (née Paulsin; January 16, 1947) is an American business executive, entrepreneur, political activist who served as the United States Ambassador to Poland from 2018 to 2021. She is the chairman of the Green Beret Foundation advisory board, and a Fox News contributor. On November 19, 2015, President Barack Obama nominated her as a member of the United States Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy. Mosbacher started her career as an executive in 1987 when she purchased the struggling cosmetics firm La Prairie, outbidding companies such as Revlon, Avon, and Estee Lauder. After selling La Prairie in 1991 to Beiersdorf for a profit, in the 1990s she founded Georgette Mosbacher Enterprises, her own business and finance consulting company. Georgette Elise Bauerdorf (May 6, 1924 – October 12, 1944) was an American socialite and oil heiress who was strangled in her home in West Hollywood, California. Her murder remains unsolved. Early years Born in New York City, Georgette Bauerdorf was the younger of two daughters born to oilman George Frederick Bauerdorf and his wife, Constance Dannhauser. Georgette Heyer (; 16 August 1902 – 4 July 1974) was an English novelist and short-story writer, in both the Regency romance and detective fiction genres. Her writing career began in 1921, when she turned a story for her younger brother into the novel ''The Black Moth''. In 1925 Heyer married George Ronald Rougier, a mining engineer. The couple spent several years living in Tanganyika Territory and Macedonia before returning to England in 1929. After her novel '' These Old Shades'' became popular despite its release during the General Strike, Heyer determined that publicity was not necessary for good sales. Georgette Liying Chendana Chen (; Born Chang Li Ying; 23 October 1906 – 15 March 1993), most commonly known as Georgette Chen, was a Singaporean painter and one of the pioneers of Modernism, modern Visual art of Singapore, Singaporean art as well as the Nanyang Style, Nanyang style of art in the region. A key figure in the development of modern art in Singapore, Chen is known for her oil paintings and contributions to Visual arts education, art education as a teacher at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) from 1954 to 1981. Prior to being based in Federation of Malaya, Malaya and Singapore from the 1950s onwards, Chen often travelled between cities such as Shanghai, Paris, New York City, New York and Tokyo. Georgette Seabrooke (aka Georgette Seabrooke Powell; August 2, 1916 – December 27, 2011), was an American muralist, artist, illustrator, art therapist, non-profit chief executive and educator. She is best known for her 1936 mural, ''Recreation in Harlem'' at Harlem Hospital in New York City, which was restored and put on public display in 2012 after being hidden from view for many years. Georgette Leblanc (8 February 1869, Rouen – 27 October 1941, Le Cannet) was a French operatic soprano, actress, author, and the sister of novelist Maurice Leblanc. She became particularly associated with the works of Jules Massenet and was an admired interpreter of the title role in Bizet's ''Carmen''. For many years Leblanc was the lover of Belgian playwright and writer Maurice Maeterlinck, and he wrote several parts for her within his stage plays. Georgette Klinger ( Eckstein; February 28, 1915 – January 9, 2004) was a Moravian-born American businesswoman and cosmetologist who founded skin care brand Georgette Klinger Inc. in New York City in 1941. Born into a wealthy family in Brno, Moravia, she became interested in beauty care after developing an acne rash from applying cosmetic products she won at a beauty contest. Georgette Tsinguirides (born 27 February 1928) is a ballet dancer, ballet mistress and choreologist. She was the assistant of John Cranko at the Stuttgart Ballet and became in 1966 the first choreologist in Germany. Still active in 2015 after 70 years with the Stuttgart Ballet, Tsinguirides has been teaching the works choreographed by Cranko and his successors to several generations of ballet companies internationally.
