Georges Van Coningsloo
Georges Van Coningsloo (27 October 1940 – 7 April 2002) was a Belgian racing cyclist. Career Van Coningsloo was a professional from 1963 to 1974. In 1967, he won Bordeaux–Paris, after a 370 kilometer breakaway. He rode in four Grand Tours in his career: three editions of the Tour de France, and the 1970 Vuelta a España, but failed to finish all of the races. His son Philippe was also a high level cyclist. He died, however, before turning professional, after suffering a heart attack during a race. In his honor, a race called the Memorial Philippe Van Coningsloo is held in July. His other son, Olivier, was also a professional cyclist, who rode for two seasons before ending his career. Wavre (; nl, Waver, ; wa, Wåve) is a City status in Belgium, city and Municipalities in Belgium, municipality of Wallonia, capital of the Provinces of Belgium, province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium. 1967 Milan–San Remo
The 1967 Milan–San Remo cycling race took place on March 18, 1967, and was won by Peugeot (cycling team), Peugeot-BP-Englebert's Eddy Merckx. It was the 58th edition of the Milan–San Remo Classic cycle races, "monument" classic race. Summary The decisive attack was launched at 50 km from the finish by 20 riders, including Italians Felice Gimondi, Dino Zandegù, Gianni Motta, Franco Bitossi and the previous year's winner, Eddy Merckx. Merckx, left without teammates in the breakaway, broke solo at 20 km from the finish, before being joined by Gianni Motta. After the descent of the Poggio di Sanremo, Poggio, Gimondi and Bitossi returned to the two leaders, leading to a four-man sprint on the Via Roma. Merckx easily won the sprint, sealing his second ''Primavera'' victory, and also established a new record average speed. The Tour de Wallonie is a stage race cycling race on the UCI Europe Tour. It runs in Wallonia, the French-speaking part of Belgium in the end of July. Tour Of Belgium
The Tour of Belgium ( nl, Ronde van België; french: Tour de Belgique) is a five-day bicycle race which is held annually in Belgium, and is part of the UCI ProSeries. It was held annually between 1908 and 1981, except during both world wars. Between 1982 and 1990 several races were not organised and none at all from 1991 to 2001. From 2002 onwards the race has again become an annual fixture on the cycling calendar. Following the start of the UCI ProTour in 2005 it looked like the race would merge with the Eneco Tour; however this did not happen and it became part of the UCI Europe Tour competition. Winners Twelve riders have managed to win the Tour of Belgium more than once.
