George W. Booker
George William Booker (December 5, 1821 – June 4, 1883) was a nineteenth-century politician, lawyer, teacher, judge and justice of the peace from Virginia. Biography Born near Stuart, Virginia, Booker attended common schools as a child, taught school, studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1846, commencing practice in Patrick County, Virginia. He was elected a justice of the peace in Henry County, Virginia, and was a member and presiding judge of the county court from 1856 to 1868. The Virginia House of Delegates is one of the two parts of the Virginia General Assembly, the other being the Senate of Virginia. It has 100 members elected for terms of two years; unlike most states, these elections take place during odd-numbered years.
