George Stokes (rugby Union)
George Stokes (born 13 July 1995) is a rugby union player who plays for Darlington Mowden Park. His usual position is at the flanker position. He was previously with Glasgow Warriors, Ayr, Toulon and Northampton Saints, Rugby Union career Amateur career Stokes began his amateur career with Trocadero Marbella in Spain. In England he played for Bury St. Edmunds. Stokes played for Ayr when not on duty for Glasgow Warriors. For the 2018–19 season, Stokes signed for Darlington Mowden Park in England. Professional career Stokes moved to Northampton Saints in 2013 He was loaned out to Bury St. Edmunds for game time. After being declined by Wasps, Stokes moved to Toulon for the 2014 season. Flanker (rugby Union)
Flanker is a position in the sport of rugby union. Each team of 15 players includes two flankers, who play in the Forwards (rugby union), forwards, and are generally classified as either List of rugby union terms#B, blindside or List of rugby union terms#O, openside flankers, numbers 6 and 7 respectively. The name comes from their position in a Scrum (rugby union), scrum in which they 'flank' each set of forwards. They compete for the ball – most commonly in Playing rugby union#Ruck, rucks and Playing rugby union#Maul, mauls. Flankers also assist in pushing in a scrum, but are expected to detach from the scrum as soon as the ball is out to get to the play before the opposition's forwards. The Scottish Rugby Academy, for sponsorship reasons the Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy, is a national academy structure designed to give Scotland's young rugby stars a pathway into the professional game. Bridgehaugh Park is a rugby union ground in Stirling, Scotland, with a capacity of approximately 4,000. It is the home of Stirling County RFC, who currently play in the Scottish Premiership. Location It is situated in a meander of the River Forth in the north of the city of Stirling. 2017–18 Glasgow Warriors Season
The 2017–18 season saw Glasgow Warriors compete in the competitions: the Guinness Pro14 and the European Champions Cup. Season overview League expansion With the addition of two South African sides, the Pro12 expanded to become the Pro14 for season 2017–18. The format of the league changed to accommodate the extra teams. It was split into two conferences and matches played in a conference system with the addition of 2 derby fixtures. The play-off system also changed with the winners of the conferences hosting a Semi-Final and each conference runners up and 3rd place teams playing off in Quarter-Final fixtures. For the Pro14's inaugural season, Glasgow Warriors were placed in a conference with the Ospreys, Cardiff Blues, Munster, Connacht, Zebre and Cheetahs.
